I'm at the first listen, so far not bad... but I also think, just gut feeling, that I'll still prefer the tools :P

Ulcerate Everything Is Fire

few comments (unfortunately!) for a great extreme metal album, a very interesting band!
Franz Ferdinand Franz Ferdinand
Voto:
I have to say that, contrary to my prejudices, this turns out to be a nice album; of course, the originality is elsewhere, but overall the listening experience is quite pleasant. However, I don’t understand those who talk about similarities with The Strokes or Interpol; the former draw from the Velvet Underground, the latter from The Sound, while Franz Ferdinand is definitely more oriented towards Talking Heads (let's say a lighter, indie-oriented version of them). Of course, the Talking Heads are on a completely different planet (or better yet, we’re not even in the same galaxy).
Cult Of Luna Somewhere Along The Highway
Voto:
pretty pretty, in some ways similar to the isis; both great bands
Buzzcocks Singles Going Steady
Voto:
nice and fun disc, but nothing more for me, I prefer the angrier and/or weirder punk; very similar to the Ramones (who in turn don't drive me crazy)
Naked City Leng Tch'e

Sure, you’ve really been getting into easy listening and sunny things lately, huh?! Interesting (nice doesn't seem like the right word), but I prefer the naked city from the self-titled album, torture garden and radio.
Alt-J An Awesome Wave

ordered recently, since I've heard quite a bit of good talk about it; I'm really curious to hear it

At first, this album didn’t say anything to me at all, but now I must say that I like it quite a lot. Maybe not a full vote, but four stars definitely fit quite comfortably.
