The White Stripes have always seemed overrated to me, nice yes (I particularly like Elephant), but if I could go back, I think I would reinvest the 20€ spent on their CDs elsewhere. I'm not interested in his solo stuff at all, but I recognize that he and the Stripes at least brought a bit of blues-rock back into fashion among the masses.
