I have another theory: It was Faulkner who was trying to enter Baricco's thoughts (in the first chapter).
Thomas Pynchon L'incanto del lotto 49

@kemosabe. I read Vineland 7 years ago and I liked it. It’s a funky novel, with a funky protagonist who lives off social security by pretending to be crazy (every year he loads his head with a storefront). The story revisits the '60s with its most well-known tropes, the characters are caricatured, and the vintage language reminds me of Salinger’s short stories or the novel "A Confederacy of Dunces" by J.K. Toole (that one is recommended too).

Here, this is my favorite review, I've decided. Not only that, but I will also send it via email to a few people.
Thomas Pynchon L'incanto del lotto 49

Great book, one of Pynchon's best, yet it has conceptually remained stuck in the '70s since Gravity's Rainbow. I'm now rereading Beckett, always exceptional and a precursor of the post-modern (and still unmatched, in my opinion!). The review is brief, but it captures the essence of the novel well; sometimes there’s no need for too much talk.

Midsun, can you tell me what art is? I'm waiting for some clarity; usually, those who speak like you come up with illustrators and wallpaper designers. By the way, they used to say the same thing about Monet, once upon a time.

Dear Punisher, Galas is better than me, Cattelan than Toscani, and in my opinion there was no bitterness (of course not), but a fond criticism. Bye.
