Chiho Aoshima Miss Sunset
Voto:
"Aren't we the people of art and culture?" No, and for a long time: today we are the people of football and ignorance. Regarding Aoshima: it is part of the superflat movement, which is gaining some success even in Italy, so it will probably be seen in Italy for sure.
Roberto Saviano La parola contro la Camorra

@GustavoTanz: I agree. P.S.: it’s such a drag when they portray band leaders who are genuinely trying to break away from plop music as snobs, when in reality they are just really good.

I wonder why you have to politicize (and we know in which direction) all of your reviews: for once that you refrained from writing serious nonsense or blatant Berlusconi-esque vague ramblings, here you go using 80% of the review (from "Il cuore del problema..." onward until the end) to belittle, demolish, and undermine the Italian Left. Which, to be fair, is indeed in a pitiable situation, but the question is: what was the need to use Saviano's work to attack the Left, also taking shots at the Red Cross? None. Your usual bias.
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio Crocifissione di San Pietro

@Deep-Frenk: the reviews are fair and nice, but if you open any art history book, you'll find the same identical points, perhaps written differently, but it's all the same. I haven't found a true, let's call it "reason for interest," in your reviews, that's all, but that doesn't mean they are negative (if nothing else, they are accurate).

Gian Lorenzo Bernini Sepolcro di Urbano VIII

@the green manalishi: be careful, you are not talking about Baroque in general, but about Bernini in particular. The other Baroque artists were often also very dissimilar, if not even antithetical, to the characteristics you listed in comment #4.
Janet Jackson janet.
Voto:
@alia76: in 1993 I was 10 years old, and in fact I only listened to it later, trying (as best as I could) to contextualize it. I discovered Janet Jackson in 1997 with "The Velvet Rope" and then I went back to her earlier productions, which in my opinion are inferior to the aforementioned album in several aspects. This doesn't mean that "janet." is terrible, but only that it is inferior in terms of readiness and "correctness" (is that the right word?) to other things that came later and that I think are better executed.

My favorite album by Janet Jackson is "The Velvet Rope," which was exactly the right record at the right time; the rest is interesting, but not always up to par. This "janet." isn’t bad, but has become heavier over the years.
