@teenagelobotomy: of course not, I can’t paint like Leonardo, but I can still express my opinion. ;) However, the fact that you’d rather eat shit than listen to Baustelle suggests to me that you find them VERY irritating, I would say, and for reasons that at least so far you haven’t been able to express clearly, to give us reasons why they should be criticized much more than they are praised. Obviously, if it’s just a matter of taste, that’s fine, but say so.

As nes says in comment #27, these guys are among the best we currently have in Italy, if you can do better, please, pick up your guitar and entertain us. Welcome to DeBaser and congratulations on your choice of nickname! I’m a fan of Baustelle, but I didn’t find this album exceptional: regardless of whether they were better or worse, their earlier works had much more character. Even "Amen", although (as the reviewer says) it is tinged with a Sanremo vibe, keeps that in check and, indeed, bends it to the poetic purposes of the band. Here we’re a bit in the realm of self-cloning; the songs seem to me less "by Baustelle" and more "in Baustelle style"; of course, there are peaks of quality, but they seem a bit watered down compared to their previous albums.

It just means they also have a theatrical attitude, nothing more. If the issue is the costumes, I remind you that the Beatles dressed in ways we’d find embarrassing today, any Western metal band does worse with their stage setups, and as for attitudes, know that no Japanese person has ever eaten bats. That said, there are good bands and bad bands, but condemning everything wholesale is a bit shortsighted, huh.
