Eugenio Finardi Fibrillante

The cover is arguably on the brink between beautiful and trashy, but I like it. Unfortunately, I am not from the generation that grew up with Finardi, and I say unfortunately because the few songs of his that I know are all excellent: I will listen.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor Wanderlust
Voto:
Lana Del Rey can go fry herself, detestable and please not comparable to the wonderful Sophie Ellis-Bextor with whom she shares, give or take, the "e" in her last name. Okay, "Make a Scene" I liked but it was a bit tacky, whereas this "Wanderlust" is stunning: the various folk incursions of Soviet taste (starting from the Cyrillic font on the cover) are the price to pay for her acquired notoriety in Russia, but they are balanced intelligently as in "Love Is a Camera." Ah: it may be silly, but the interlude is extraordinary.

From Gaiman, I miss this. I skipped the entire middle section of the review because I want to read the book first: I will remedy that immediately.

Dario Argento Profondo Rosso

I'm sorry to say that I completely disagree with the qualitative conclusions reached by the reviewer, and I say I'm sorry because we share the focal points of the film that however differ in the outcome: everything he dislikes, I like, very simply. For me, "Profondo rosso" is without a shadow of a doubt one of the top 10 films of all time. I've watched it at least a dozen times, appreciating that curious, inimitable, and perfect mix of even antithetical genres (the beautiful slapstick gags in the Cinquecento just minutes away from the worst murders) that, through a remarkable balance, support and complete each other. Even those elements perceived as technical flaws are, for me, pure genius, like the sudden drops in sound or the artificiality of some scenes. As for the fact that "at the time...", I have never embraced and will never embrace that discourse: at the time nothing, the Parthenon is over 2400 years old and yet it is stunning, so if beautiful things were being produced that long ago, I see no reason why it wasn’t possible 40 years ago. Certain flashy technical choices are not a limitation of the times, but rather a sign of the times, and with hindsight it's much better this way because back then Argento and his team were forced to invent effective solutions for what they wanted to stage, while today directors rely on computers and then we get chilling horrors like "Dracula 3D," which is so bad you wouldn't believe it if you didn’t see it. However, I understand that upon first viewing, a work like "Profondo rosso" may leave viewers feeling destabilized, even negatively: I recommend a second and third viewing, even just to confirm the judgment, or maybe to overturn it, who knows.
Luigi Pirandello Uno, nessuno, centomila

A review that might have been cleaned up from unnecessary vulgarities, but aside from that it is very good and also enticing, as a review should be. As for the work, there’s no need to beat around the bush: it’s a masterpiece, period.

For me, "Red Lips," the song written by Shirley Manson, was absolutely not bad at all. She's trying to do some dirty pop, and I want to give her a lot of trust as well.

Notorious masterpiece, discovering it only now is still fine: better late than never! ;)

I agree with everything in the review, saving from the abyss of eternal oblivion only a few vague musical hints that I have already forgotten despite having listened to the entire album no less than twice. She acts all high and mighty, but she acts all high and mighty, but she acts all high and mighty in a way that humanity has never seen in its millennia-long history, and yet all she does is sell her body.
