Hideaki Anno Neon Genesis Evangelion (The end of evangelion)

@ lopi: the comic ones are already possible to present, and in fact, some have already been published. Write one for "V for Vendetta", why not! As for video game reviews: I totally agree as well, it’s a medium that showcases artistic peaks just like all the others.
Jack Stripes & Alicia Keys Another Way To Die
Voto:
I see that it's not necessary to emphasize Jack Stripes’ slip-up. A nice and successful single, but the title track of the previous "Casino Royale," namely "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell, is so beautiful that it rivals "Goldfinger" by the legendary Shirley Bassey: beating it was a lost cause from the start, and White & Keys did their best to come out with their heads held high.
Italo Calvino Il Visconte Dimezzato

Fortunately, there’s paloz who explains the great truths of life; how would we have done without, I say. Instead: macaco, you were excellent in reviewing this little book; what do you say about dedicating yourself to the other two "ancestors"?
Italo Calvino Il Visconte Dimezzato
Voto:
Calvino, a genius of the twentieth century and an excellent book (along with the other two). But Svevo is also very good, and Moravia is objectively great, you know!

Three trusting the fantastic Brandy ("The Boy Is Mine," a cult track from the '90s) and a good review, but really too long... please, summarize a bit!

Look, I admit it might just be a matter of personal taste, I don't know, but I really can't stand Max Pezzali. Until quite recently, I simply didn't like him, but then on the day of MTV Day 2008, they aired an episode of "Storytellers" where he reinterpreted his classic hits accompanied by a string quartet: hearing "Hanno ucciso l'Uomo Ragno" with a chamber music arrangement utterly blew my mind; I still can't sleep at night from the total horror I felt that day. I mean: he was likable as long as he was producing catchy pop anthems, he's undeniably good at that, but since he started playing the life coach with lyrics filled with cringe-worthy clichés, he revealed himself in all his ridiculousness, and his persona collapsed like a house of cards (and his music along with it). Possible redemption only if he returns to his true craft.
Pooh Un po' del nostro tempo migliore

Are you Paolo Bitta? :) Jokes aside, well-written review and I'm giving 3 out of trust for the album because I believe that Pooh, in their golden era, produced something more than just light music for teenage girls.
The Cardigans Super Extra Gravity

A somewhat brief review, but complete in its summary. The single "I Need Some Fine Wine and You, You Need to Be Nicer" is excellent, and the rest of the album is very good, alternating between crystalline peaks like "Godspell" and much weaker links like "Good Morning Joan." "Gran Turismo" is more beautiful, but the cold atmosphere that permeates this record makes me love it even more.
The Cardigans Gran Turismo
Voto:
Well-written review and great album. I agree with Yosif on pretty much everything he writes, but I have to disagree regarding the downward trend: while "Gran Turismo" is certainly their best album ("My Favourite Game" is not just "decent pop rock very radio-friendly," but a true and genuine masterpiece), I join London and Suor_Genoveffa in saying that "Super Extra Gravity" is also a really great album: the singles released are exceptional (excellent "I Need Some Fine Wine and You, You Need to Be Nicer") and the overall mood is very good. Perhaps, simply, for this last album they had less media exposure outside of Sweden compared to 1998, and so they have disappeared from MTV Italia, but that doesn't mean they are artistically dead or dying. After all, how many great artists are there in the world who could easily achieve international success, but don’t just because they lack adequate promotion? This is demonstrated by the opposite event, that is, zero talent, but excellent press agents: Paris Hilton's album is pure crap in CD form, but I bet it sold 10 times as much as "Gran Turismo," 100 times as much as Björk's "Post," 1000 times as much as De André's "Anime salve," and 10000 times as much as Joanna Newsom's "Ys." It's all a matter of publicity.
Marco Masini Marco Masini

@ donnie darko: for what it’s worth, I’m completely on your side, but let’s stop talking about these tragic events. Masini is a singer-songwriter who expresses his suffering like many have done and many will do, and labeling him as a " bearer of bad luck" is pre-Enlightenment backward thinking. As for the rest, things happen: it could be coincidence, or maybe chance doesn’t exist, but it doesn’t change the fact that things happen.
