Agreed with the Guccini echoes of Vecchioni, I thought I was the only one who felt that way! As for the rest, well, some things I liked, others less so, but overall I expected much worse! Ah, Van De Sfroos' song? No, I can't stand it even though I find him likable...

framing and review... thrilling!
Maurizio Pollini - Wiener Philarmoniker Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Concerto per pianoforte ed orchestra in sol magg., K. 453

@COOLERMASTER: your analysis from my point of view makes perfect sense, indeed "philology" tends to reconstruct something based on what we know today, but many of the elements we would need for a scientifically faithful reconstruction are not available to us. Then we should always distinguish a purely emotional discourse from a more strictly technical one, but that would make the discussion lengthy and probably inconclusive. In short, if one prefers a composition from the "baroque" period played on the piano rather than on the harpsichord, that's fine, as long as one knows it’s a personal choice and that the piece is what it is also because it was written for a different instrument. Of course, hearing (and seeing!!) Grimaud is always a wonderful thing...

Ah, you "stole" the review I was about to write! ... surely it was better this way! I completely agree with what you wrote so well, including the part about the novello and autumn!

For me, many of the impressions you’ve written are spot on and profound. There are books upon books on such a work, and it doesn’t make sense to expect a review to be exhaustive. Well, you could have also given it a re-read with corrections...

Congratulations, by the way, I’ve read "tristissimi giardini" and I really relate to it!

... and to think that the movie's soundtrack was supposed to be done by Ivano Fossati, but probably due to their personality clash, nothing came of it! Congratulations on the review and the choice!
Max Bruch Concerto per violino e orchestra n. 1

I don't know anything about Bruch, and this review is a great invitation to his music... it's been a while since we've had pages like this on Debaser!
David Bowie Ragazzo solo, ragazza sola

Intelligently funny review! I didn't know about this, but it seemed like I had read somewhere that Bowie admired Battisti; probably Mogol acted as an intermediary between the two... if that had been all he did, though, damn!!
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Requiem

How can you say you don't know a thing about classical music if you immediately follow that up by saying you've listened to so much of it!? I don't know why, but there continues to be an excessive and sometimes unjustified feeling of inadequacy when it comes to this kind of music. Let's just dive in without too many concerns if we enjoy it! By mixing the Requiem with your other musical interests, you've set an excellent example of how, now and then, a good blend between genres can be really beneficial so that classical music isn't always relegated to something old, moldy... and untouchable!
