Heinrich Böll Opinioni di un clown
Voto:
"Everyone knows, that is, that a clown must be melancholy to be a good clown, but that for him melancholy is a serious matter worth dying for, they don’t quite get there," is one of those (not many) books that I would gladly reread...
Paolo Conte Reveries
Voto:
an immense disc of old songs dressed anew. Conte is one of the few, in my opinion, who can turn even a compilation or a live album like "tournèe" into a masterpiece! great review.

Vinicio Capossela Live @ Collisioni, Barolo 14 luglio 2012

Ah, I had missed this review! I totally agree with the impressions; I also remember a handshake during a literary festival where he wonderfully read some pages of Fante .. and it was the time when alcohol was flowing in our veins .. of both! Then I saw him again at various concerts, and I think he remains great!
Vinicio Capossela Rebetiko Gymnastas
Voto:
Wow, still with this Capossela/Waits thing!? Can’t you love both while collecting the emotions that each one can give you!? By continuing to stick labels, you end up closing yourself off from many things... and that's never a good thing! Then if you can't stand Vinicio, nothing to say of course...
Leonard Cohen Live @ Pavilhão Atlântico, Lisbona - 7/10/12

Oh Flo, just the first sentence would be enough for me to toast to the review! I confirm the wide exceeding of expectations also for the Italian concert, which besides being splendid was also an undeniable lesson in style, not just in the musical sense... And a dedication to Fabrizio from Suzanne!!
Leonard Cohen Old Ideas
Voto:
Yes, it wasn't a given that they would come out with an album like this. For me, it represents a kind of magnet album; it indeed has a significant attractive power, and all the elements are there. The light and non-dominant choruses, unlike in some previous albums, create a very suggestive atmosphere in my opinion. I agree that it doesn't represent an absolute masterpiece, but considering the times, a little shout for a miracle wouldn't seem wasted! Great review, Flo.
Ivano Fossati Decadancing
Voto:
After further (and tiring) listens, I would save three or four tracks, the most intimate and introspective ones where Fossati has always been a master: Settembre, Un Natale borghese, Nella terra del vento, Tutto questo futuro. But some of the more upbeat tracks are truly embarrassing; I believe Ivano should keep his son Claudio in check and perhaps change the arranger... Since Quirici was replaced by Cantarelli (aside from Lampo Viaggiatore, which was a good album), the decline has begun, slow but inexorable.
Ivano Fossati Decadancing
Voto:
In truth, even De André repeatedly expressed to the newspapers his insecurity about continuing to make records. I believe that all artists worthy of the name sooner or later confront, more or less privately, the issue of whether or not to continue producing records or doing concerts. Of course, Fossati has done it and with great grace, certainly in a manner that is fitting for him. The fact is that this album also confirms his descending phase, or rather a different one. A difference that he probably struggles to accept. P.S. The 2 is in relation to his albums like "Discanto" or "Macramè".
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Complete Piano Concertos, Vol. 11

Oh right... the date was 1767, but he did write that he was 11 years old, so...
