It’s quite a struggle to recount the concept in detail! But I would say it was worth it! You managed to make the story clear even to me (who, after all, has never paid too much attention to the lyrics).

Anyway, great album, I’ve never seen a band so capable of expressing emotions through music!

Pier, take a good look at the official website: if you go to 81 you'll find the album with the original cover, but if you go to 2006 you'll find Worlds Apart Revisited with the alternative cover and the logo currently in use.

but it's better this way, better hundreds of reviews on the underrated Saga than on the tiresome Vasco!

at least the 4th star was deserved; anyway, keep in mind that the original version of Worlds Apart didn't have the current logo, that appears in the reprint.

@ Gate: let me ask you this question: is it better to have a double CD with over 120 minutes of music from the Flower Kings... or is it better to have 40 minutes of crap from Gigi D'Alessio???

Do you know how I respond to those who say that the review is too long and boring?

BETTER TO BE WORDY THAN STERILE AND VOID OF IDEAS!!!

Objectively, I would say my review on Dream Theater is much more boring, a band that already had many reviews here on DT; Pier Paolo, on the other hand, is reviewing a much longer discography but from a decidedly underrated band with only one review.

Anyway, aside from what can be said, for me the previous album The Beginner's Guide To Throwing Shapes is a great record, which perfectly blends the technical skill of the musicians with the typical sounds of the era. For me, an album to be reassessed!

In the '90s and especially the 2000s, they somewhat rested on sounds that were halfway between Hard Rock and AOR, losing a bit of the creativity they had before, but they still produced great works.

The album is definitely good, but I personally find it a step down from the previous ones. The hard rock upswing of the band is certainly to be appreciated, as is the somewhat unusual prominence of the guitars over the keyboards. However, they no longer have the creativity and compositional originality that characterized them in previous years. I preferred the original synth-funk-prog of the early albums and the pop-prog with wonderful instrumental rides of the later records. Still, they're a great band, one of those I admire the most at this time!
