I don’t know about you, but in certain moments I also heard some pop-punk vibes in here, both in the guitar tone and in the bright, slightly sugary melodies, sometimes even Disney-like, as well as in Mitchell's voice. After all, Mitchell has collaborated with A, which says it all... Let’s say they've ventured a bit into A.C.T territory; the liveliness is there, but with less flamboyant keyboards and a bit more guitars. A less epic and more modern album compared to the three historical records, yet it adequately honors the It Bites tradition.

I don't hear all this hard rock, and it's a bit less stunning than the previous ones, but it's still a great job, worthy of a band that, as someone has already said, represents a case apart in prog. The Ice Melts into Water is, for me, the best track.

They have certainly measured themselves in something else; they may have become quite commercial, but in these years as a pure pop band, they have released Ghost Stories and Everyday Life, which are far from chart-topping records. Even these "commercial" albums don't seem so bare and flat in terms of arrangements; they ride the mainstream but do it with decency—nothing like the crap that circulates in the pop scene. And even these "light" albums still have their fair share of more sophisticated tracks that are anything but pop.

Edit to the review: "An interesting observation I had made but forgot to mention…". See the old version Look At You Now - The Flower Kings - recensione Versione 1

Perhaps my favorite by Camel? It could be, but it's more that it captivated me in less time. After all, it's a band with a stratospheric discography from beginning to end, a group that has evolved while keeping its trademark intact. I also agree with those who say that diminishing what came after '77 is foolish (and there are many prog fans stuck in that year).

One of the lowest points in their discography, they seemed unsure of where to go, whether to make the catchiest record or to revive some old atmosphere, failing to excel in either.

Underrated like I don’t know what, Prog-power metal with its own identity, nothing that resembles Dream Theater, Symphony X or Evergrey. In particular, they have that vaguely galactic, spatial, apocalyptic, sci-fi atmosphere... Plus, the singer has also sung for Lucassen, just to say...

I enjoy hearing even the most different opinions from my own. That's why I liked this review, precisely because I completely disagree! Dream Theater are the undisputed fathers and kings of prog-metal; all the influences mentioned are there, but they used them to create new, hard, and technically extreme music. They did something that no one had done before (at most hinted at), and by the way, they're still doing it great (the latest album is there to prove it). You say many of us have fallen for it? Well, I'm proud to have fallen for it too!

It has a very Smiths flavor, that light but spot-on rock, one of the many souls of Primal Scream, a band that struck me with its tendency to suddenly change from album to album.
