I agree with Untilted on "Amber," the album of the heart, but Autechre are starting to create "important" and mind-blowing stuff, indeed with albums similar to this one mentioned in the review. "Chiastic Slide" is an alien, uncharted world, at times inhospitable and aggressive, that follows non-Euclidean laws.

It is important to remember that in '37 he was expelled from the Fascist Party for his increasingly strong anti-fascist positions. Then in '43 he joined the partisan movement Giustizia e Libertà. After the Liberation, he continued to take flak from both anti-fascists and former fascists.

This is what I mean by getting my hands dirty with music, "these new puritans" who emerge from the alchemical den with the philosopher's stone; surely not everything shines like gold, the material, while remarkable, remains in certain areas stubborn and burdened by unnecessary prolongations, but the "hidden" properties of this gem have come to light, filling our senses with astonishment and wonder.
