I had the review in the works, but due to exams, I didn't send it and I don't think I will at this point... but it is what it is. :) Aside from the somewhat unnecessary preamble, I can only say that the film disappointed me. I expected more from Coppola because so far I had liked all her works, even the underrated Marie Antoinette. About Somewhere, I can only say, quoting a line from my unpublished and modifiable review (how snobbish of me... puah :D): "What’s missing is above all a turning point, the maximum tension gets lost between a Marini dance at the Telegatti Gala and an evening of the protagonist with the current goose." That said: 2 for this 2010 Golden Lion.

I mostly agree with Kyra! The bridge seems respectful to me; I saw it two years ago when I went to the architecture biennale. It's certainly not one of those works that could be called an eyesore! Moreover, even if it had been, one should consider the quality of the eyesore! In Italy, we always tend to close ourselves off to the contemporary when it comes to cities like Rome or Venice, etc... Honestly, I've always found that to be an annoying and stupid thing. If these problems had been raised in the past, cities like Rome wouldn't be as beautiful as they clearly are now! The criticisms in this regard are really dictated by ignorance. The only scandals, in my opinion, are the costs and the timelines for realizing these works. I give the bridge a 3 1/2; I don't find it ugly, but it doesn't blow me away either... and besides, it’s too slippery.

saw yesterday with FBYC@Rome...the musical attitude aligns with me, some nice things instrumentally speaking (perhaps too few to scream YEAH...actually definitely too few), listening to the songs on myspace live version that gets lost, voice that doesn't capture live (and not even recorded from what I've heard), somewhat whiny lyrics, 'I break the guitar' sketches a bit too forced on stage, whoever was with me would agree with the pest XD! I say there could be unexpressed potential!:DD
