To be honest, Battiato has never made albums that are qualitatively inferior to excellent, even in his most experimental period that began with "fetus" and ended with "Juke box" (speaking of official discography). To label him as a mediocre musician or composer (I think you meant the composer neu! more than the musician) is truly a colossal gamble. And then the whole fake snob thing is the oldest story in the world, used by those who have never understood a damn thing about Battiato.
