I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I actually liked the album. Yes, you read that right, liked it. It's well-played, well-sung (aside from the slip-up in Still Burning and C-Lebrity, help me say bad things about those). May is in shape, Taylor keeps the beat, and Rodgers has positively impressed me. Queen + Paul Rodgers must mean something, right?
In my opinion, it's the very survivors of the band who want to tell us that what was will no longer be, that story won't repeat itself, that we won't listen to Queen's music anymore. A new chapter opens, less baroque, less epic, less eclectic, certainly less exhilarating. The half-queen still plays, and seems comfortable doing so, ready to accept the determined influence of Paul.
True, Deacon says no, but he approves (and continues to collect royalties!) Regardless of the track-to-track, I give a solid 3 to this cosmos rock, and a 5 to the courage of Brian and Roger, who perhaps - I say perhaps - have shown through their actions that they have clearer ideas than many "big fans" who today go boo!!
