xNeu!: How does one compare the pure psychedelia of "The Piper" with the Prog of "Meddle"? Who knows! It's a bit like comparing the first Soft Machine album with "Third", actually much worse because the Softs, in some respects, still retain those sounds, while I can't find a single point of contact between "The Piper" and "Meddle". The best phrase: "perfect record in form but inconsistent in content"; if only there were more "inconsistent in content" records like this. Or: "you can keep your boring and useless Echoes," damn right I'll keep it, but I'll also hold onto the first great (master)works, don't worry.

Ole has already said it all. Great album, "Asylum," but it's a notch above.

Nice but I find "Frances The Mute" much more interesting in every aspect. 3.5

After a more thorough listen, I've come to the conclusion that if I had listened to this album 4.5 years ago, I would have been totally hooked, considering it a great masterpiece. Now... I still think it's a good album.
