I finally took it down, are you happy? (I'm mainly referring to you, Peppe, and your comment on the first review; it was only right you knew u.u). The first hot impressions that nobody cares about? It really pissed me off. There are some new ideas and good points, but the fact is that I've been intolerant of Labrie's voice for a while now, especially when he launches into the usual double bass patterns; when they don’t know how to fill the spaces, they just blast them in, good grief, what a drag -.- It's not just Labrie (otherwise, I’d just listen to Liquid Tension), it's that they’ve broken my balls with these brick-like albums. This one (like most of their work) could have been a really great album with proper trimming, maybe with a maximum length of 40/50 minutes; it would have been truly noteworthy, not the heavy brick that it is... but what can you do, they have to make albums that are 81 minutes long, and yes, they're still a raging river, why do I even bother to tell you. But they should let that damn Myung play (even solo) instead of Labrie, with so many heavy and repetitive rhythm sections, and all those unnecessary flashy bits from the bald guy and Jesus Christ. By the way, the piece by Jet Li is nice :)

It must have been a great concert, strange but beautiful. A couple of days ago, I went to see Le Orme + Il Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the Casa del Jazz. First, Le Orme played; it was a strange feeling, given that the only survivor from the original lineup is the charismatic Dei Rossi. Anyway, they put on a nice performance, and for me, Cemento Armato was enough to be happy :D After Le Orme, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso came on stage... an incredible performance. When Di Giacomo started singing, I was left speechless; at 64/65 years old, he has an amazing voice. Nocenzi was in top form and incredibly inspired, truly a great. They ended the concert with two songs, with both bands on stage for the first time in history, I believe, and they blasted "Sguardo Verso il Cielo" and "Non mi rompete," pure magic :P

also because the Floyd had stopped doing psychedelia a long time before Meddle came out :) regarding the Beatles, it’s up to you to decide whether to listen to their more poppy and "sputtanato" side or not. Grateful live 5 for life
