Fantomas The director's cut

I've never approached the Fantomas. I think the time has come :)

But indeed, I don't give a shit either, but the fact is I'll never give 5 to Reign In Blood precisely because it talks about bullshit. My standard of judgment, my opinions, all mine. Bye.

@47: what a blunder? In MY, and I emphasize MY, judgment, music is tied to and absolutely NOT autonomous from the content and the attitude with which the artist approaches it. Period. If Affinità e Divergente had been conceived by neonazis, it would have received a 1 from ME. The same goes for this album (one of the most influential in history). Bone-crushing riffs and an impressive rhythm section (Lombardo’s tempo changes on Raining Blood are insane): a milestone, in short, but since they sing about nonsense (and they seem convinced of it too :D), it doesn't get more than 7/10 from me. That's all, plain and simple.

But the lyrics from Metallica are macho metal, but ultimately silly. Just because they are pseudo-satanist-anti-religious, Slayer's songs become comically absurd to me. I've never liked them; I've always preferred Metallica, hands down. From this album, I only save those riff-heavy tracks that make you nod your head like an idiot; now you'll say, "Well, obviously, it's thrash metal: there have to be just the big riffs," but in MY judgment, attitude counts for 50%, so Slayer just becomes a bunch of amusing clowns and nothing more. I make no claims of objectivity, of course :)

World etc etc, you can't tell me that if someone doesn't like this album, they should go listen to Katy Perry, come on. Let me make you think about something: for me, "Kill 'em All" is much more "angry" than this "Reign in Blood": in the former, you can feel the urge to smash the world, the rage ("Hit the Lights" is one of the most furious songs ever), while in the latter, this reviewed one, they sing about nonsense, topics for macho metalheads and Satanists (Nazi butchers, death, Satan, and all that bullshit). This is a bit of a provocation, but from my point of view, there's a lot of truth in it :)

Ah Bisius, maybe it's because I'm saying this as a non-medallaro. Listening to Slayer for half an hour makes me lose my mind. I grew up in a group of medallari, I can't help but hate the most medallaro band in the world :D

Ah, and Metallica-Slayer, for me, ends 3-1.

Damn, good shot but this disc has never sat well with me, aside from Bartle's talks. Maybe it's because I grew up in a company of medalists...
CCCP - Fedeli alla linea Canzoni, preghiere, danze del II Millennio

Well, in my opinion, "Affinity and Divergences," if it had been conceived by neo-Nazis, would have made me shit my pants. To me, in music, form and content are inextricably linked. What I meant to say is that on that record by Ferretti&Co. there is no act of "propaganda" (I laugh just saying this word) of a Soviet nature. You target the pathetic little groups of pseudo-communist-revolutionaries from social centers with their keffiyehs around their necks, but not the CCCP! Who cares!
