Not to be pedantic, but if while listening to "Nebraska" you understand what it conveys in the same way you would understand, for example, "La buona novella" by De Andrè, that is, immediately, then saying that you appreciate a singer for the lyrics makes sense; otherwise, for me, it doesn’t. And I don’t doubt it’s the same for you. I, on the other hand, am satisfied with the voice. As for Springsteen the rocker, reading: "Guitar work close to zero, extremely low quality of both bass and drums (really dull)"? Max Weimberg dull? It leaves me speechless, and I can only suggest, if I may and if you haven’t done so already, to give "Live at Hammersmith" a listen along with the first five albums, of course. Best regards.

Well.. I feel exactly the opposite, as a rocker up to "the river" it moves me to tears, with the acoustic guitar it bores me to death and there's little to explain. As for the lyrics, if you speak English or American well enough to understand every nuance at the very moment he sings, then it makes sense to talk about lyrics; otherwise... no. In my opinion.

I don't understand why when talking about this album, "contemporaneo" is never mentioned, the peak of the record with "c'è tempo."

I'm listening to it and I'm pleasantly surprised; I really like the sound of the guitar, "cesare ti voglio bene" is my favorite for now. A little SST tag on the record wouldn't look out of place...

Seen last night, the "old" Roth is aging quite well...
