Did you know that Ghaal is gay and is in a relationship with a Norwegian designer???? As for the album itself, I don’t like the black, and this band won’t change my mind, but unlike many, I find their themes much more sensible than one might think at first glance.

1 "Lars hits the drums like a twenty-year-old" yes, like a twenty-year-old who has taken only 2 drumming lessons in the last 2 months... 2 "No group of twenty-year-olds could do this" indeed, today there are groups of twenty-year-olds that would eat Metallica alive... 3 "James's voice is pure, calm, hoarse, and fantastic" if it's pure, how can it also be hoarse??... 4 "the giant awakens pulling out all his silence" how do you pull out silence??? oh well... 5 "puts the solos back where they rightfully belong, exclusively to Metallica" well, on the first 4 albums there were amazing solos that set the standard, but today there are bands that can play solos that James and Kirk won't be able to pull off even in 30 years, ever heard of Fredrik Thordendal????...

not among my favorites by Voivod, but definitely above average; lately, Voivod have returned to live performances with the guitarist from Martyr (those who don’t know them are encouraged to check them out), and next year their latest album is expected to be released.
