AA.VV. Remastered - Metallica's Master Of Puppets Revisited

I completely agree with you, the Beatallica are too great, ah........everyone said that the Beatallica didn't promote themselves too much because otherwise Ulrich would sue them over the copyright of the songs, but in reality it was the holders of the rights to the Beatles' songs who got angry, and Ulrich paid the lawyers for the Beatallica to sort it all out.

I just threw in my "version" for fun, even though it has its reasons; Testament have covered several Metallica songs, including Seek and Destroy, so they would have been great on Battery. I think Meshuggah are the greatest heirs of Metallica, and I was intrigued by the idea of seeing how Thordendal would reinterpret the solos of Master of Puppets. For the Lovecraftian The Thing That Should Not Be, I could only choose Morbid Angel, for reasons every true metalhead knows. I think Anthrax would be excellent for Welcome Home, especially for the melodic opening part. Exodus is Hammett's former band, and I believe they would have been perfect for a brutal track like Disposable Heroes. Regarding Leper Messiah, Mustaine claims to have written it, so I would have liked to see how he would have interpreted it. Mastodon (who, for me, represent one of the cornerstone bands of today and the future) I've "confirmed" on Orion, and finally, no one like Slayer could better convey the devastating power of Damage, Inc.
As for metalcore, I think it's already on the decline; it has met the same fate as nu-(pseudo)metal, a boom of four or five years and then it imploded on itself. Too many, really too many, bands that are all absolutely alike, empty, and useless.

This album has been a source of endless laughter for me; listening to Labrie's rendition of "Damage Inc." or "Leper Messiah" makes me laugh so hard I could piss myself. With that voice of his, he can't even come close to the majesty of James Hetfield. Saying that Dream Theater is better than Metallica is like saying boiled cabbage is better than lasagna!!!!!!!

Great anatas, you read my mind. This dumb ANOnymous person hides and spouts nonsense. I think he's someone who doesn't understand a damn thing, relies on appearances, and is as superficial as only a clueless M(erd)TV addict can be. I'm sure he's one of those brain-dead people who listen to crap like house, hip hop, dance, and various other garbage. I'm more and more convinced that METAL is for intelligent and prepared people, not for all the goats crowding the planet Earth!!!!!!!

Well, dear ocram, the change in sound starting from '91 in thrash has been significant, just compare the Black Album with …And Justice for All and you'll see, two diametrically opposed albums, just like Souls of Black and The Ritual or Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction.

I know the Pestilence songs practically by heart, especially "Spheres" and "Testimony." These days I should be getting the album from C-187, the new project by Patrick Mameli and Tony Choy. I love "Fear of Tomorrow" by Artillery. I know the other bands a little more than just by name.
ANOnimo, why do you judge what you yourself admit to not knowing? I think you might be a bit narrow-minded!!!

Maybe the review isn't the best, but I believe I know thrash very well since I've been listening to it for years; otherwise, I would have written the 16598624th review of Iron Maiden. The anonymous one proved to not understand a damn thing, and regarding the "desolate landscape," I meant to say that after 1991, thrash, or rather the bands considered cornerstones of the genre, ended up the way they did. If in 1989 you had told someone that Metallica would release commercial albums, they would have laughed in your face; instead, after 6 or 7 years..............
If I told you that in 10 years Napalm Death will go to Sanremo, would you not think I was an idiot?
