Manowar Gods Of War

I appreciated many of your previous reviews, but this one feels like you're grasping at straws, as an album like this MUST get 1 or at most 2 stars for how bad it is. Half of the album is divided between spoken parts and orchestral sections, while the rest is just recycling what Manowar have been doing for the last 25 years!!!!! endlessly repeating the usual WAR STEEL METAL GODS BLOOD VICTORY TRIUMPH etc. etc. And it's not 1984 anymore!!!!!!!!

I listened to the track available for download on the site, they are phenomenal, the solos are stunning, personally they vaguely remind me of Textures. Excellent!

I don't know either the band or the album, but if you tell me there are Meshuggah and Spiral Architect influences, you have me at the wedding!!!!!!

I have to say that this review gave me chills; it unleashes a series of sensations, memories, and emotions that only a true metalhead has experienced and can experience, just like the album in question!!!!!! STAY METAL AND THRASH TILL'DEATH!!!!!!!!

Without mp3s, I would have never listened to 70% of what I've listened to, CDs are too expensive and the ones I listen to around here are nowhere to be found, not even if you paid a fortune for them!!!! Just to give you an idea, I once went to the only record store in my city and for Master of Puppets, I had to wait a week, so............long live mp3s, long live downloads.

It is said that a new album by Sabbath featuring Ronnie James Dio on vocals is in the works, but it shouldn't be released before late 2009.

I completely agree with supersoul, judging Black Sabbath by listening to them half a time on mp3 is like judging the Mona Lisa by catching a glimpse of it on Google Images' gallery!!!!! The early albums of Black Sabbath are the masterpieces they are precisely because of that evil and possessed aura that only Ozzy's voice could impart to them. The albums with Dio, Martin, Hughes, and Gillian don’t even come close to comparison, damn!!!!! In particular, the albums with Gillian and Hughes are pretty mediocre, while Heaven and Hell with Dio is a fantastic heavy metal album from the 80s. After this album, Sabbath (with various singers) churned out albums that range from the awful Forbidden to the good eHumanizer.
