Ettore Scola Brutti, sporchi e cattivi

But hasn't anyone noticed a clear intent to denounce in this film? I mean, yes, the raw and unfiltered depiction of a degraded and degrading reality is fine, but I think that in a film talking about such a disastrous situation that is so close (physically) to us, the accusatory finger pointed at the viewer, the public, society is implicit. The poor souls, the marginalized slum dwellers of a large urban center are the "collateral damage" of our economy, the remnants of the explosion of wealth. They are there, we turn our backs and ignore them for convenience, and when we have to see them we automatically justify ourselves by thinking that they brought it upon themselves, or that they were just unlucky but there are already those in charge to solve their problems. To remove any doubt, in my opinion, the sequence of the children's faces has done the trick: dirty and malnourished yet happy to play among the rats—ugly, dirty, nasty... but also innocent. Try to ignore them now, those who could be your children. More accusatory than that... I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, I don’t have enough knowledge of Scola's works to express myself with certainty, but for me, the film, and particularly that sequence, conveyed that message.

@YOSIF dear, it may be true that Milan fans live on memories (rather recent ones, by the way), but it's equally true that the very last years have shown Italy the unmistakable nature of the average Interista: a beggar full of repressed anger. I'm sorry, you've missed your chance; evidently, those who are born losers remain losers even after 10 consecutive championships. Perhaps in a few years, you'll look back and realize the pathetic figures you're making despite the victories, perhaps.

I would have expected anything, but never that the long-standing frustration of Inter fans could reach as far as the reviews on Debaser. It's nice to learn.

I don't remember where I saw a ranking that puts it at the top of the best films of the past decade. Underrated because of the (usual) terrible translation of the title into Italian. Strange we didn't call it "Two Forgetful Romantic Goofballs."

But it's not even about the fact that it's a blockbuster. It's that this bombardment, this shouting about a masterpiece, really gets on my nerves, especially since it's just the same old recycled junk (story-wise, I mean) and even in terms of special effects, without those damn glasses (which really hurt your eyes, if we want to be nitpicky) it's just the usual video game/comic book movie they've churned out by the dozen. I'll tell you @S4doll, if they had aimed a bit lower, I might have even gone to see this blockbuster, it wouldn't have been the first time. And it's not even out of the question that I might go, maybe dragged along by my friends.

"So disgustingly biased just because the movie is a blockbuster?"...mmmmhh, let me think....YES!!!

While I would forgive the Massive even for burning down my house, could it be that the cover is perhaps a tribute to the Duke? Didn't they do the same with 'Splitting the atom' regarding this homage/reference?

2010 is more "physical," heavier than 2009, the defenders are much more reactive (you might get past them, but they come right back at you) and the CPU is more "intelligent" and aggressive when attacking: just last night I lost 4-2 against Hamburg (I was Werder Bremen: yes, I already have a nice FO that replaces Eredivisie with the Bundesliga).

Sure Iside, right now I'm thinking about a Bordeaux - Monaco (me) from yesterday afternoon, a nail-biter 1-1, and I'm still kicking myself for the colossal missed opportunity from Nimani in the 88th minute when he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Damn, I should have won to get back in the game.
