I wholeheartedly agree with Telespallabob's comment. Thank you, Tele, for the assist. In my opinion, this album is the best of Vai's career, perhaps the only one where he truly showcases his artistic flair, mixing sounds and melodies in an appropriate way. Unfortunately, he then got carried away by excessive technique and scales played at breakneck speed for their own sake (the student does not surpass the master XD), because the great Zappa, besides being an excellent guitarist, was a great composer; this will be the immense limitation of Steve Vai. So dear reviewer, reconsider, and be more critical because phrases like "Passion and Warfare should be the first album to listen to when deciding to learn to play guitar" are incorrect. It depends on one's perspective, on the approach one wants to give to music, to feelings; labeling an album in this way only demonstrates a blatant case of shameless admiration for a guitarist, but to exalt this album as a masterpiece seems exaggerated to me. Technique is not everything; having studied a lot doesn’t mean being the best or pseudo-artists, even if this album truly deserves recognition, as I repeat, it is perhaps the only worthy one of Vai's career.
