Well done, great review. The comparison to Call Me A Dog is interesting; I wouldn't have thought of that.

Cornell, do you know how many know-it-alls I've seen mocking the so-called "grunge" music by labeling it as "easy to play"? Well, I wonder why when you challenge these people to pick up a guitar and learn a piece like Even Flow, Jeremy, or In My Tree, they never know where to put their hands. Have I ever heard in my life a Nirvana cover band (a so-called "teenage" group...) play even a moderately acceptable version of a classic known by everyone like Smells Like Teen Spirit? All the guitarists struggle with the strumming rhythm while the drummers are tearing their hair out trying to figure out how the hell the drums were played on that track. Yet, on the other hand, the universe is brimming with cover bands of Metallica, Pantera, and Dream Theater. There’s one word for this: incompetent.

And since I'm in a controversial mood today, I'll copy and paste a comment posted a bit earlier. "I used to listen to their first album sooo many years ago, really a great work, however as a band they might be overrated... instrumentally speaking they might not be exactly professionals (abbruzzese, abbruzzese, watch out, you skin destroyer) but they had some good ideas and wrote some good tracks... Vadder's voice is beautiful... it really reminds me of the singer from 'Pain of Salvation'." I don't even know where to start laughing. Eddie Vedder compared to the singer of Pain of Salvation, I hope this is a joke. But what the hell do they have in common?? And they're not professionals?? They've been playing all over the world for 20 years, they've influenced a wide slice of rock, they've often been compared in importance to U2 and The Who, but I say... what the hell kind of idea of a professional do you have? This is one of the most important rock bands of recent times, and you talk about them like they're some chart band that just put out a few catchy songs... bah. Go listen to Pain of Salvation again, it's for the best.

Oh my God, the nonsense this person said before me... Pearl Jam are not technical... no, they’re just poor souls who don’t know how to handle their instruments... really an unskilled drummer, Matt Cameron, and just an average bassist, Jeff Ament... and okay, I’ll stop here. Damn, what I have to read every single time. Don’t pretend to be experts in music that you don't understand, just stick to those four Dream Theater albums you have on your shelf and please, don’t annoy me.

"What can I say, if not a perfect song in its genre, it's to Warrant what Livin' On A Prayer is to Bon Jovi, Girls Girls Girls to Motley Crue..." But also like "Sere Nere" is to Tiziano Ferro, or "Oops I did it again" to Britney Spears, since the level is that.

In metal, one of the very few bands that I have always personally appreciated.

Katharsys, what should I understand about something so complicated? The "surprisingly satanic flavor," the "demonic or human-under-torture lament," or what else? Stuff that if someone truly knew nothing about black metal and read it, they'd think they were faced with the scribblings of a child talking about their favorite cartoon. Wow, what a complicated and niche culture, what an immense discipline this black metal is, serious stuff, huh! Really, us mortals can't come close to it. Katharsys, really, do us a favor...

At least these people should just admit they listen to black music and like it, and that’s it, but they even talk about it as if it were some kind of art, improvising pretentious reviews as if it were a serious thing. Someone in the past said that the culture of modern bourgeois society scared him because it was capable of giving everyone the illusion of knowledge while in reality, we are as ignorant as goats. And damn if that someone was right...

In your opinion, what does it mean in Italian "An album that brushes the peak of cruelty and expressiveness"?
Cesare Cremonini Il Primo Bacio Sulla Luna

"That Cesare Cremonini carried with him such a potential talent to make him one of the best singer-songwriters of the new generation had already been understood for some time." I thought it was ironic, but it’s said seriously. Damn what a piece...
