Indeed, when someone has nothing left to say, they can just throw in some ninjas or samurai... which are always cool, it must be admitted.

Seen live years ago, moreover BEFORE Metallica. Something unbearable, so much that nobody cared about them. Just think that to get a bit of attention from the audience, they had to play the cover of Walk by Pantera...

@Hetzer. Pointing out Santoro and Travaglio's partisanship while worrying about their contribution to uncritical and biased journalism, after having slowly and passively accepted for almost 20 years the whole process that has led the Nano to rule over us, as well as his daily doses of populism and arrogance now swallowed without a second thought, is a tangible manifestation of the brainwashing you are trying so hard to deny.

IS IT OUT ALREADY? OH MY GOD, I HAVE TO RUSH TO BUY IT!! No, just kidding, I couldn't care less. These are truly excellent examples of the so-called "ostination metal," also known as "this genre has been the same for 30 years but we keep going even though we look ridiculous because headbanging is fun and makes us feel important, as if we know good music, unlike you."

However, on the other 9, clearly NO. You keep dismissing masterpieces based solely on your superficial impressions. You can't judge a work that's 200 years old based on how "right" or "wrong" the message it conveys is according to modern standards. Such works serve to illustrate how human thought and culture have changed and evolved over time; it makes no sense to nitpick whether the author was "right" or "wrong" to say a certain thing, especially without even the slightest effort at a proper and conscientious contextualization.

But you know that on point 10 you might find me strangely in agreement?

Rebelde, unfortunately with certain individuals it’s just a waste of time. The facts are clear to everyone, beyond the talk. On one hand, I find it entertaining to witness the desperate contortions that individuals like Hetzer are forced to make to deny the obvious evidence, as they are grotesque and pathetic attempts to subvert the most logical order of things, a slap in the face of intelligence in its most elementary form. The sad thing is that after all this time, they have ended up truly believing it themselves.

I almost prefer those who say, "No, I don't read The Lord of the Rings because it contains Nazi-fascist ideals." It's a big load of crap, but at least there's an attempt, albeit clumsy, to provide a reason for their dissent. Instead, stuff like "fantasy sucks," "it invented stupid languages," "it's too long-winded" just makes me lose my mind.

Fantasy is, in every sense, a genre for idiots, so much so that it's the idiots you refer to who invented it, not Tolkien. It's their personal distortion and nerdy revision of Tolkien's themes and universe, stripped of all meaning. They read Tolkien's books and only understood "elves," "battles," "swords," and "dragons." I don't think it's the author's fault if those who read him had an IQ below average. If you wanted to insult fantasy readers, you've chosen the wrong review.
