Kant. It’s not that a film is beautiful or ugly simply because the morality it expresses is more or less "right" (according to what parameters, then). This is to say that a sensible critique of the film's morals should care very little unless it’s something so innovative and striking that it shocks. In this case, from how it has been presented, it doesn’t seem to be the case; on the contrary, from what I read, it appears to be the usual feel-good tale of the perfect family that should never separate because otherwise it’s a sin, so why should I watch a film that wants to teach me the obvious with all its annoying superficiality? After all, it’s true that if I took what’s written here at face value, I might risk getting it wrong, even considering its notoriety. Therefore, I refuse to believe that this film became so famous due to such a trite morality, but rather for other merits that are certainly much more artistic and perhaps not highlighted.

Well, I haven't seen it, and if that's really the message, I can't help but wrinkle my nose for two reasons: first, true masterpieces don't convey any real moral; at most, they leave doubts. Second, the moral just presented would be way too overly sentimental/Catholic to make this film the classic that everyone says it is. I'm sure there’s more to it than that.

I would really like to know what the "political commitment" they pursue so passionately consists of. Seriously.

Flawless review, except for one point: if the movie truly sucks beyond imaginable, then it has everything to do with Vasco; in fact, it couldn't have a better title and inspiration.

Ah, so the dwarf would have destroyed "the post-Tangentopoli communist dreams"... instead, it seems to me that it's the opposite: the communists in power after Tangentopoli would have shattered HIS capitalist dreams (or rather, delusions) of omnipotence, and so he had to put his face on the line to prevent that from happening. If you look at recent history from this perspective, it becomes clear that it’s also wrong to talk about the first and second republic, since there has only been a handover between members of the same political and power "family" (let's put it that way...).

Lele Melotti is the drummer for Vasco and Eros Ramazzotti. This gives a pretty clear picture of the catastrophic state of Italian music, to which I don't feel I can add anything else.

I remember the film as pure absurdity. The soundtrack is just tacky enough, perfectly fitting with the movie. The Tesla piece is so over-the-top and anachronistic that it ends up being fantastic.

Hetzer, you get angry if I tell you that you're pro-Nano, but you reason just like those who vote for him. In the end, you always end up with the same old argument that makes no sense, the one everyone uses: they’re all thieves, the crap is everywhere, etc., etc. But in the end, you pretend not to see the biggest pile of crap, or rather, you justify it in relation to the other crap. Crap is crap all around, your argument leans a bit too much towards the typically Italian vice of classifying which crap is ultimately better, and you get so twisted up in it that you end up tolerating the stench of cow dung, saying that in the end even flies crap and all in all it's a natural process. And sorry for the example rich in French expressions and the shameless abuse of the word "dung."
