Well, Lupin, I’ve received replies to comments that are two years old, so anything is possible. After all, isn’t that the beauty of the internet? At least you can be sure the messages get through, unlike with the postal service... umm

@Snaggletooth, I don't envy Michael Angelo Batio, because I've never seen him, I don't even know what he looks like, he hasn't taken my woman or my job, I'm not a guitarist and if I were, I wouldn't play this genre either. Now that I've assured you that I couldn't care less about Michael Angelo as a person, that if he died tomorrow I wouldn't even bother to act indifferent, can I allow myself to express my criticisms of a type of music that's flat, self-referential, and inconclusive like the one he proposes? Because he may have sacrificed himself to become the ambidextrous whirlwind that he is, but I've also made an effort, in my own small way, to acquire a minimum of musical culture before daring to speak up, and I've come to the conclusion that those who propose this stuff can only be someone who has confused music with DIY, with all due respect to DIY. So what do we do, does my effort count too or do we keep delegitimizing everything with envy and the usual pathetic excuses?

I mean, wouldn't it have been less hypocritical for someone like Megan Fox to have immediately gone into porn instead of building a career on flirtation and minimal outfits... I mean, if your profession is being a whore, why not acknowledge it and go all the way? We would have had millions of less angry movie critics and millions of infinitely happier teenagers.

To say that a beautiful woman must necessarily be stupid is misogynistic, but to accuse someone of misogyny a priori if they dare to criticize a beautiful woman is hypocritical. The paradigm of the "beautiful and intelligent" woman is a silent argument that silences any attempt at criticism. This is not equality. Equality between men and women will only be achieved when we are able to freely acknowledge that there are opportunistic, superficial, and incompetent women just as there are men.

One of the aims of this work is to be purely descriptive. The story of the Ring is almost secondary. Much more important is the description of the world and the continual references to the ancestral connections of the various races (elves, humans, etc.) with the environment and nature that surrounds them. The background weighs more than the mere unfolding of events. The true "plot" of the book lies in how the characters’ relationship with the surrounding universe develops and changes. This is evident in characters like Tom Bombadil and the Ents. The former is so in harmony with the place he inhabits that one could say he has somehow generated it himself. The latter, on the other hand, suffer because the war has destroyed the ancient bond that tied them to the trees and forests to which they have always belonged. This is why Tolkien wrote neither a word more nor a word less than what was necessary.

1) To say that this book is "for kids" is like saying that cartoons or comics are "for children." The reasoning that many people have is: dwarves and elves -> nonsense for idiots or at best for foolish adolescents who still need to grow up and understand what life is really about; I, on the other hand, who have understood it, read much sadder and more serious things and allow myself to look down on this stuff. All Walt Disney's fault. He was really a racist, and besides being a racist, also conformed, conservative, yet I have never heard anyone raise even half a criticism about his cartoons or comics. 2) I have never understood this criticism of the "slowness" of the work: this is anything but an adventure book; the fault lies with you for expecting it to be one, certainly not with Tolkien, who when he wrote it had very different aims.

@Mien, I on the other hand want to know what that stuff is that you wrote there on your personal page. Just out of curiosity.

In my opinion, similar discs are secret military experiments designed to test how far they can push us. Well, now they know they can do anything to us and we won’t react.
