Indeed, after Freezer it becomes a bit disappointing, since, in fact, there is no organic being stronger than Freezer, apart from the Super Saiyans. The others are Cyborgs (17 and 18, as well as Cell) or Demons (Majin Bu). Moreover, Goku proves to be clearly inferior to Majin Bu in their final battle... he really takes a beating. Vegeta, on the other hand, just gets his ass kicked, not to mention that damn annoying Satan.
Speaking of Manga... my favorites are the aforementioned Naruto, Solarlord, Magic Blade (stunning!) and the Street Fighter series (Street Fighter III, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter 3rd Strike) which are truly engaging and completely different from Dragon Ball and similar mangas. It's a shame that Jade, the publishing house, for some unknown reason, has stopped distributing the Street Fighter and Magic Blade series. I've finished Solar Lord... but I'm really pissed off about the other mangas, especially SF III which was almost at its conclusion. Fuck off Jade!

Speaking of Naruto... I found the first part of the anime very beautiful and well-made, with the protagonist not being invincible. Usually, the protagonists in manga are always the strongest. Even though it's inspired by DB, it has managed to handle this spirit with originality, showing Naruto as a child who needs to "grow and mature" and who isn't always up to the task. I watch the Shippuuden series (not Shippudden, as cursed Mediaset would have it) directly in the Japanese version, without those alleged cuts and stupid censorship. However, I consider it inferior, even though Naruto will indeed mature and become incredibly strong, developing a technique superior to Rasengan (the Wind Rasengan, or Rasen-Shuriken), devastatingly catastrophic, much more than the "Thousand Hawks," surpassing Kakashi. Sasuke, however, always remains the strongest. The weak point of the anime lies in all those damned fillers that do nothing but break the continuity with the manga in which... eh eh... the Akatsuki organization (a.k.a. the Dawn Organization) will invade Konoha, leveling it to the ground with Naruto absent, busy training to learn the "Sennin" (hermit) technique, alongside the toads of the deceased master Jiraiya (who will die at the hands of Pain, the leader of Akatsuki). Sasuke will kill Orochimaru and join Akatsuki meeting Uchiha Madara, the strongest man of his clan (after Sasuke himself has formed his own gang and killed his brother in an epic clash). When Naruto returns to the village and finds it under siege, he will fight Pain (the strongest of the Akatsuki clan), capable of performing an indefinite number of summoning jutsus and cloning himself 7 times with each clone able to perform every technique of the original Pain (actually Pain is controlled by Nagato). After Kakashi's death and the attempt to kill Hinata (who is left in critical condition trying to protect Naruto while screaming "I love you Naruto!"), Naruto unleashes the Nine-Tails in all its destructive fury! But he manages to suppress it thanks to the intervention of the 4th Hokage, who is actually his father. Then he will engage in an epic duel with Pain letting loose everything he has learned, showcasing all his power and defeating him. He will go to Nagato and convince him to surrender. Nagato will trust Naruto and see in him "the chosen one" who will bring peace to the ninja village. As of now, the manga is paused here and... in the meantime, Sakura has discovered who she truly loves (^^).

BARTLEBOOM: my dear! I belonged to the generation that ate "cybernetic chili and electronic miracles but a human heart haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!" (but who is it?).
And Dragon Ball was born when I was 6 years old and was broadcast on local networks when I was still very young, with different voice actors! For example, in the first Dragon Ball aired on TV, Goku called his cloud "Golden Cloud!!" and not "Speedy Cloud," as we know later. All the voice actors were changed and the anime was cut and adapted for all the young and very young audience. The first part of young Goku is memorable, with the participation in martial arts tournaments... a blast! Training with Master Roshi, and the first villains (Pilaf, Red Ribbon, Tai Pai and company leading up to Satan!). The first Dragon Ball is history. Dragon Ball Z (whose "Z" was a transcription error, as it was initially titled Dragon Ball 2 but the "2" was read as a Z) I find to be much more "static" and flat but still beautiful. The only weak point I notice is the gap in strength between the characters that becomes unbridgeable (while in the first DB, most characters were quite strong and the gap wasn't too high). In DBZ, only the Saiyans remain, the strongest warriors, with Goku always and only playing the role of the hero.... DB GT is a monstrous piece of crap.
The review could have been written better. You mentioned very interesting details (like the growth and evolution of the characters), focusing only on the psychology and evolutionary reaction of Goku. There would be a ton of things to say. Moreover, the spelling is not always excellent..... Anyway, long live DB & DBZ!
