Beautiful review and an amazing album for one of the best power metal bands around. Even though "MKII" is a bit of a disappointment...

No, sorry, I didn't explain myself well. I define "superficial" not the review itself but those who say it's boring, as they get "tired" of reading it all the way through. If it's copied, that's a problem for Vic. In fact, now I'm going to take a look at that link. Bye!

super crappy album, regardless of personal tastes. DT are just self-celebratory. The only albums I can actually enjoy are Images & Words, Train of Thought, and Octavarium. The rest (especially Metropolis II) is crap.

Although I hate this musical genre, I must admit that our very own Labyrith are unmatched in power-prog. This album is a masterpiece. Although, I believe the most beautiful is the eponymous one. But "Lost" remains a standalone gem.

You rated the songs from 0 to 10. I calculated the arithmetic mean, which turns out to be 3.78, rounded up to 4. But you gave the album a 3 out of 5, which corresponds to a 60% approval rating, compared to your average song ratings, which would be approximately a 40% approval rating (or, more accurately, a 37.80%). Don’t you think there’s a bit of distortion between the song ratings and the album rating? While I understand that tastes are subjective, there seems to be a clear misjudgment here…

Dear ammazzadoppioni, you pull my hair the longest, as they say around here (and see if you can understand that). Finally, I believe it is up to me to dedicate myself to whoever the hell I like, and it certainly won’t be someone appearing out of nowhere to decide with whom and with what. Until we meet again.

In my opinion, the problem is another. The metal scene in Italy is pathetic, and I hate to say it. Lacuna Coil (who are to metal what the Pope is to Bin Laden) have blatantly copied The Gathering; what have Rhapsody invented? Power mixed with classical music... but how many other bands do that? Angra, Stratovarius... some more speedy, some less. Necrodeath: we’re always there, between Bathory, Celtic Frost, and the like... In short: we're not really good at innovation, but what we do, we know how to do it well.
The point, however, is another. It's about the lack of imagination. The cover art is already a tailor-made calling card. Between Domine (whom I deeply detest), Manowar (who should be burned), and all those colorful pseudo-fantasy bands, we could really open an encyclopedia of copy-paste covers. It's pitiful.
I'm not someone who dislikes power metal, quite the contrary. There are bands I can listen to, like Gamma Ray, Helloween, Freedom Call (but here too, we could compile a long list of flaws and few merits), Rhapsody of Fire (see FC). I much prefer Labyrinth, both old and current. I don’t even mind Hammerfall (except for their second and third albums).
But if power metal is only going to be synonymous with orchestrations that cover the work of various musicians, and with eunuch singers straining to blow out their vocal cords... well then, my friends, we’re really scraping the bottom and it’s time for power metal to retire.
Fortunately, there are bands like Masterplan, Astral Doors, and, why not, some stuff from Pretty Maids that, while not strictly power metal, pack a serious punch.
At least that's my opinion.

Unfortunately, I listened to it. A friend of mine who has sacrificed his soul and body to power made me listen to it. I spent the rest of the day on the toilet… It’s nauseating.
Power is dead, it’s stagnant, it’s burnt out, it’s the mockery of its own parody, it’s frozen, it’s music for the thoughtless played by the infinitely thoughtless, worse than Emilio Fede.
A complete disaster.
