This record doesn't seem to be for me, I prefer the "Cubano-Be/Cubano-Bop" (and all the Latin incursions) of the good Dizzy...Nice review anyway.

2) "fame = value" indeed, I don't judge an artist based on whether they are successful or not, but it is a fact that notoriety cannot be relative... 1) "any information channel can be valid" absolutely right, but a good artist (therefore honest) knows how to recognize another good artist (I might not like them personally) I have more doubts about a journalist (but I haven’t refused a record just because underground journalists wrote good things about it and others did not)...

I enjoy talking to people like you LUCUMINE74, because you are an open-minded person, and I absolutely do not want to change your mind... I agree that Jackson contributed something to pop culture, but less to black music; there are other musicians to look up to... as for the blending of these two art forms, I can't and don't consider him number 1 since I find many of his things either very close or totally kitsch... the only thing (but I'm not an expert) is the dancing, where he seems to do quite well...
