Truman "The Best Band in Your..." is just a live album, while the remaining 95% of Zappa's records is a mix of studio and live... Anyway, I completely agree with the rest of what you say; I would never recommend this album to a Frank newbie, of course. In fact, it's an album I gave 4 stars instead of 5, which means that, in my opinion, it contains excellent music...
NES and all the others, this Zappa/Nirvana debate was inadvertently started by me: the story is that one day on Debaser there was a review of Zappa and one of Nirvana on the same page, and I happened to write on Nirvana's saying, "how sad to find more comments here on Debaser about the Nirvana album than about Zappa" (something like that, I don't remember exactly). From that, a debate arose that, according to many of them, turned into Zappa vs. Nirvana (when it was never my intention; it’s like comparing lasagna to dung).
