But why do you put things on the keyboard that no one said? It seems to me that both the Count and I have "downplayed" punk music; we didn't say it's garbage (he gave 3 stars and I gave 3.5 to this album)... then you can mix with any music, what the hell do I care if there are bands that do punk-jazz... I repeat, punk was a cultural phenomenon and very much about culture... "punk has gained more followers than Jesus Christ (including Hitler), these last 40 years of music are practically based on PUNK (let's not say bullshit)."

Yes, only CDs (and almost all original!!!) so thanks to my contribution at least they can produce the crap for plastichino (PVC)... ah hymen of course it wasn't a funny joke at your "night of the times," however, I’ve never heard a record that sounds like Lumpy, I'm sorry... even Kandinsky changed an element from the lines that create figures, he made them geometric.

Dearest Franco, I don't know punk "in depth," but I have the presumption of having listened to (and owning or having owned) enough records to form my own idea and have my own opinion about it... P.S: the quoted phrase from the previous post isn't mine, it's Zappa's (of course!).

Cage doesn't seem like something from the dawn of time to me; anyway, the first is Pierre Henry in 1949 (and it's not the dawn of time), but the concept is totally different from the Zappa-esque one (and by reflection from that of Faust); here it’s a collage of music, and above all, of sound (not just sounds, voices, and noises "accompanied" by instruments).

Salami, take a moment to rest, but do you have your period for life? "Punks say: okay, we play fast and distorted, so what? Well, I like that: so what?".

Hymns, you say, since the dawn of time? Can you bring me some examples before saying goodbye for good? And anyway, you haven't answered the rest... Do you want to come to my place? I have about 3000 CDs (okay, Zappa made quite a few, but not that many) including those by Faust, which I find good, but not transcendental records, sorry Nes.

Salami "Zappa, you sense its immense power but you don't understand it" but who are you to say that, I know it much better than you... just because I expressed my opinion on punk, a phenomenon that is very VERY much of its time with a few good musical pieces (it lasted that handful of years and then?) now I'm an idiot, fine, I accept everything, and coming from salami it's a compliment for me.

Punk is a concept, a way of living and thinking, of which music is also a part, but that is just a detail.

Certainly, the work of Faust is decidedly darker (the search is different), and saying that Zappa's work doesn't seek new rhythmic-harmonic solutions is at least a bold statement, regardless of the quotations and self-quotations. However, one cannot deny that Faust listened to this record and took the idea of sound collage (not citationistic, but "self-produced," even if some things harken back to certain classical music) from the idea of layering voices, sounds, and noises. I'm not saying they are "copycats," but that this record inspired (even if unintentionally) something in them is beyond doubt for me.
