GiovanniNatoli, I wasn't saying you should listen to him every single day without interruption, but by listening to him perhaps over time you'll grasp his essence. I'm not expecting you to tell me tomorrow or even a year from now that he's your favorite pianist; I'm just suggesting you listen to him a bit more often ;-)

You defend Hollywood so much (of course, it’s not all bad; in fact, there are some beautiful films produced there), but when I think about how it has caused hunger, I’ve highlighted works by many true great directors, and moreover, many works coming from that supermarket of emotions (I'm not talking about the wave of directors from the '60s like Scorsese, De Palma, Coppola, and others) were and are prepackaged. I’m sorry, but you really understand little, little about cinema.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk Bright Moments

I have never heard this about Kirk, a somewhat cryptic phrase "dreams in which he 'saw' himself playing three saxophones at the same time" – it wasn't that he 'saw' himself, but he actually played them! In the last years of his life, he was struck by cancer in one arm (which he could no longer move; I don't know if it was then amputated, who knows) and he said: "if I used to play 3 instruments at once, now at least can I play one?" Truly magnificent!

Anyway, after your response about Tarkovsky, we can wrap up the discussion here (and I meant the second soap opera wake-up call, it's noon).

Congrats, the colossal genre is the real deal, they really are a pain in the ass, unlike Tarkovsky whose depth is a dream for those superficial types. Genre films, indeed, the big blockbusters, just box office stuff for those who go to the movies with popcorn.
