Judge Woodcock, luckily for you, I’m not Arnold. Just because someone speaks poorly of REM (I can’t be the only one on Earth along with Arnold) that doesn’t mean they’re making a big deal out of it. They’re not the best group in the world (in fact, they might be among the worst and overrated, that's for sure!)

This is a FUNDAMENTAL record and maybe (among those I know) the most beautiful by Hancock, so it can't just get 4 stars; it deserves at least 5, minimum. All the tracks are splendid, of course the ones you mentioned are among the top. But the fantastic sense of "floating" that this modal album has is indescribable. I don't even agree with what you say about Hubbard; he's simply fantastic (of course, his playing style is quite different, and thankfully so, from Davis’s). The rest of the crew is just as great.

Bubi, to say otherwise is heresy; of course, I don't know them well (it would be absurd for me to waste my time listening to entire CDs by REM with all the good music out there; what I've heard is enough for me). ALL the songs, and I mean ALL that I've listened to, are the same as each other, no ifs or buts, and as you rightly say, who cares if they've interpreted the "discontent of a large multitude of kids from the eighties"? I listen to music (since it's music); I don't discuss the lyrics.

lariana56 comedy doesn’t mean funny; there are comedies that also have dramatic endings or aspects, but they are still comedies. Pollé 1) my list is NOT a list, 2) I noted the first ones that came to mind, at this point I must conclude that you do NOT KNOW HOW TO READ 3) I haven’t seen many of Wilder’s films, just like with Capra.
