Count, no one disputes tastes; I find it exceptional. Among other things, I heard him live for the first time and was amazed. His knowledge of the instrument and the history of jazz is astonishing. All the giants you mention are remarkable, but I wouldn't forget Kid Ory, Curtis Fuller, Slide Hampton, Jimmy Knepper, Kai Winding, etc. However, Petrella has his own language (which may not appeal to everyone), but his abilities are undeniable.
