Here's an album that I always say I should get but never do! Now I'm going to try to make it mine. Congratulations on the beautiful review.
Al Di Meola Elegant Gipsy
Voto:
For me, the most beautiful album by Meola (as the session leader) showcases an undeniably excellent guitarist from a technical standpoint, but he has often left me feeling lukewarm. Nice review.

"First of all, blues can be mediocre or 'deep' depending on who is playing it!" but nooo, really!!! It's clear that we're talking about good blues, not the failed stuff, and since you’re so meticulous, blues can be mediocre or deep depending on the song as well!

dear vitalogy, I’m not here to write essays or deep dives. I responded to your (terrible) statement in the same tone. Well, to say that rock solely comes from blues is a bit limited on your part, dear, especially since jazz came first. I certainly didn’t mean dodecaphonism but practically all American music from the 1900s. Anyway, you should have a few tips on how to listen to blues, right? :-D

an effective review that encourages one to go see it. I can't stand the book vs. film debates, they're sterile; they are two different ways of creating art, and that's it.
Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Rodgers And Hart Song Book
Voto:
This time I also won't give the highest score to your review; it is always impeccable, but a bit more formal. I miss Ella, but I have the songbooks of "Cole" and "Ellington," which are wonderful, especially the second one (in my opinion). Ella is a great artist, even though some songs/albums are a bit more "commercial" compared to those of the two illustrious colleagues you mentioned, whom I prefer, and let's not forget a giant who is not well-known like Sheila Jordan!

M.Poletti, I'm sorry, but where did you read that I wrote heimat=cagata? supersoul and Il_Paolo, let me clarify that I am not from the south, but how can a film like that evoke, if not from a caricatural point of view, some life experiences from the south? It's like saying that 100 vetrine is the mirror of Milan (maybe?) today??

In my opinion, none of those who gave this film a 5 have truly watched it all the way through. I'm sorry, but I find you a bit more intelligent than that. Anyone who has perhaps seen snippets or 10/20 minutes of it would have immediately understood that it’s utter nonsense (as one would say). So let’s not act as endless defenders or the "alternatives" to Tarantino who have to claim that the unwatchable and more tedious parts of the entire Heimat saga watched all at once are films of value. Please.
Gianluigi Trovesi Nonet Round About A Midsummer's Dream

Beautiful review, I'm not familiar with the album, I only have one disc by Trovesi, so I guess I’ll have to take care of that... Thank you, Conte, for the "appreciation" you've shown me. Moreover, I received the album you reviewed by Vesala, "lumi," and after my first listen, I must say it left a positive impression on me.
