Larrok is now starting to not ramble about things bigger than you; keep your feet on the ground because jazz expressiveness is something rock can only dream of, although there are certainly masterpieces in this genre as well, and I'm telling you this as someone who has listened to a lot of rock. By the way, you mention Wyatt who, coincidentally, also worked in jazz. Gigantic San Ra and not just Atlantis; listen to the records from the mid-'50s of the guru, and then we'll see who is further ahead.

I agree with Alfredo, then Lux talks about music that is direct and not self-referential while overthinking about listening to rock! However, to diminish Ellington to dance music seems a bit reductive to me; Ellington's music is a universe unto itself!

Larrok, I was talking about well-made horror, not the nonsense of Dario Argento!!! Cribbbbio!

let's take a simple example because this way it's (perhaps) clearer, a horror film (if well made) must evoke in the viewer an emotion of discomfort, fear, anguish, this is its task and if done well, something definitely stays within, and what the heck kind of message or content should we be talking about?

If you then talk about the message of the album, don’t tell me that Ramazzotti (or whoever stands in for him) doesn’t have messages; in fact, it’s precisely in albums like those that the message has a value beyond the (in this case) music.

I'm not talking about the emotions that arise in you or in me, but the emotions contained in the work. Not the emotions it triggers because it reminds me of something, but what the artist wants me to feel.

or rather the meaning of works of art is to convey one or more emotions

The peculiarity of a work of art is to convey emotions, not messages or have a meaning. Do you know Dadaism and Surrealism?

M.Poletti, I haven't seen the film (just like you), but the Coen brothers are neither Cameron nor the other mediocre directors of "S.in love" and "il p. inglese," and I don't see why this couldn't actually be a masterpiece. Why insist so much if there are more reviews of a new film? One person has seen it in the cinema and wants to give their opinion; I'd prefer 10 reviews of this than of "college" or "vieni avanti cretino" by good old ilpaolo.
