It’s well known that people buy records for the cover, yes! Those who don’t know a damn thing about music, and best of collections are absolute crap. Everything I’ve written is independent of the fact that this band means nothing to me, whose songs are 99% all the same.

Honestly, I've never heard anything worthwhile from these 4.

Ah Paolo, what are you saying! As for you, the sun has gone to your head. Moravia used to elaborate on the contours, delve into the feelings and the reasons, while in these damn films there's a rough and caricatural description. If this film is a work of art, then I am Kubrick.

Well Stoopid, so beauty is an arbitrary and personal thing, which is why one cannot say that something is beautiful in and of itself, because for others it may be ugly; beauty and ugliness are concepts that were already outdated by the end of the 1800s; beauty can lie behind a form of thought and communication and nothing else, it cannot be pure aesthetics for its own sake (this is not referring to Visconti, but in general), so... Pollock’s paintings, for example, cannot be defined as "beautiful" because that would primarily be an offense to the painter, as his works do not seek aesthetics but rather a thought. Just like Magritte's paintings (to mention perhaps a more well-known example), who used to paint in an academic style precisely to highlight the idea of "beauty" that lies in the concept of the work; a music genre like "free jazz" cannot be defined as "beautiful" for its sonic aesthetics but for the thought it carries with it, because aesthetic taste changes but the idea does not, it can also develop. C.H.A.R.L.I.E NOKIA no one (or at least I) said that Visconti is a terrible director, I discuss some of the director’s choices, and fortunately cinema is not just aesthetics (something which surely, as you posted too, is one of its peculiarities), and so I don’t see why one cannot delve into "other" cinema; aesthetics is not the only existing element.

They have really made a mess of those sword-and-sorcery films with an Eastern twist; fortunately, over there, they definitely release better movies.
