Johannes Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem

...and anyway, referring to Mozart's, it would be more accurate to call it "Sussmayr's Requiem"..

I give it a 5 because the return of Grasshopper fills me with unmasked joy, despite Brahms' Requiem not being among my favorite compositions and despite Grass having surely written better ones. Thank you for being here again.

Certo, invia pure il testo e procederò con la traduzione.

Beautiful review(s), indeed! I actually agree more with the second one, to be honest, as I mentioned on another page. Just one clarification, perhaps a bit boring: what Atahualpa said was "DESCANSATE, NINO... que continuo yo".

Solidarity with Il_Paolo, whoever he may be. Saying that Bellucci isn’t that great has echoed through these halls like "Battleship Potemkin is a crazy piece of crap!" in Fantozzi's film club.

Five. Not to mention, managing to receive 24 comments for a composition by John Cage. Not so easy...

More than willingly. This way, I make Odradek happy, who, a few messages ago, burdened me with the task of bringing the women.

Sorry. I didn't want to set myself up as a champion of the authentic Conte interpretation nor as a "purist." I'm just a passionate consumer, so to speak. @Kosmogabri: I took that verse because I think it's emblematic of the singer-songwriter's last period. Personally, I've never appreciated the more cryptic passages of Conte, not even in what I consider his "golden" periods; instead, I've always been fascinated by his more "open and disillusioned" compositions, where he used a carefree language to tackle "well-known and tired" themes. I decided to refer to the verse you transcribed simply because it was convenient for me. And I am quite lazy. @HYMNEN: "Fuga all'inglese" and "Un fachiro al cinema," in my opinion, say a lot. The second—though it is essentially instrumental—deals with a guy who goes to the cinema, meets an old flame, and ends up missing the whole film. The first, however, says so much! "It’s all a big goodbye, one day Gondrand will pass by, I tell you, with the yellow truck he’ll take everything away and then nothing will remain of our world… da-da-da…". There you go. For me, these words would be enough. For me, I mean. It may not be so for someone else.

Seeing Odradek fills me with barely concealed joy! I didn’t know you were from Conti... Good to know! If you want, we can rent a nice Corvette together and go along the seafront of Viareggio. I’ll bring the sandwiches, you bring the women and drinks.

@ HELL: Oh come on, blessed boy!... Don't feel down, for heaven's sake! Out of curiosity, I took a peek at your 38 (thirty-eight) reviews and there are things I don't even have the slightest idea about. It's just that I really feel a connection to Paolo Conte... So I allow myself these bravado remarks that would immediately lead to a verbal brawl on a Heavy Metal review. They don’t take things lightly there, you know...
