But I don't see it as a prog versus everyone war, also because my favorite artists are not prog (Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, Jefferson Airplane, De Andrè). I simply can't stand repetitive, trivial, derivative, and unoriginal music; that's what I've always tried to say.

Alessio, why are you asking me this here? In your review, you didn't ask me anything. What should I tell you? I called you a clown because you mentioned bands that had nothing to do with what you were reviewing, and you certainly did it to be derogatory, which isn’t exactly nice in a review. I referred to "clowns" in relation to one of the bands, but I've already discussed this elsewhere, and I don’t want to spark an unnecessary discussion on this page.

Firstly, you motivated your stance against prog; you told me why you dislike it, which I already knew, but you didn't explain why it's crap. The point of the discussion was to understand what arguments you could possibly be strong enough to assert confidently that prog is rubbish. "Most prog bands lack punch, they're boring because they have this obsession with digressing, they're always far from the target." You see, you talk about most when you've barely listened to a handful. The claim that they lack punch, since it has a vague meaning, I could easily say the opposite. The fact that they are boring, I repeat, is not objective at all. I don’t know what this "target" is, but I assure you that there are plenty of successful prog albums out there. So far, you haven’t provided any reasons worth considering; you’ve only shared your tastes and nothing more. However, you gave the example of Embryo, and I told you that it has nothing to do with prog. Moreover, Pink Floyd also had their flaws, but certainly not during that period, rather from The Final Cut onwards. If you think Embryo is a bore, you will probably also dislike historic bands like Grateful Dead, Ash Ra Tempel, Tangerine Dream, and others, who have nothing to do with prog, as they’ve played a ton of passages with lysergic intentions like those moments in Embryo. But I’m not interested in that. And finally, I remind you that I absolutely didn't come here to stir the pot, and I haven't talked about Sonic at all. Maybe because I don’t understand a damn thing, but at least I’m not trying to make people believe the opposite, which is what you are doing with prog.

Aside from the fact that Embryo has nothing to do with prog, following your criteria, I must say that for me, Embryo has drive. It's an incredible trip, and this is rock too. If you haven't understood Pink Floyd, I can only advise you to listen to them better, free from prejudices. You can't try to make someone like Pink Floyd just with words. So what do you think of a group like Tangerine Dream, for instance? If you tell me that Moonchild has the same drive as Sonic Youth, your interpretation of "drive" is rather confused. Yours are personal whims not backed by any objective reasoning.

Well, then explain to me better what you mean by power, since there are different types: there’s the vocal power of Lake, there’s the sound power of a Bonham, there’s the theatrical power of Gabriel, there’s the lyrical power of a Cat Stevens, there’s the creative power of a Wyatt, there’s the inner power of a Waters, there’s Potenza where I live :D what are you referring to??

"Oh, but indeed, from a certain point on, even the Crimsons are crap, huh?" But about what?? From which point?? What kind of talk is this?? Mah..
