The same score he gave to the SPICE GIRLS' album, (and there are some albums by EMINEM, TAKE THAT, BACKSTREET BOYS, ROBBIE WILLIAMS that reach a full passing grade!!!), and thank goodness he gave 7.5, (really not enough, damn it!!), to "Made in Japan"!! Astounded...

"...BLACK SABBATH WERE HEAVY METAL..." Buahahahahahahahahahh!!! What are you talking about??? Look, the TRUE heavy metal, the actual genre, was born in '79!.. the Black Sabbath were the greatest precursors of heavy metal, they were the band that laid many foundational elements for heavy metal, but they weren't heavy; they were hard rock. I'll use some rhetorical figures: Black Sabbath paved the way and laid the first slab of concrete, Judas Priest pre-'80 and post-Ozzy Osbourne Black Sabbath built the foundations: but none of them laid the first stone of the "heavy metal" building. The actual building was inaugurated and completed by the MAIDEN. And not only that, besides this, the "iron maiden", of which this building is composed of 20 floors, has built at least 9. As for musical sensitivity, I didn’t discover that: turning to other noble branches of art, you take 2 guys of the same age and the same artistic culture, and you put them in front of Michelangelo's "Pietà": one might not care at all and say "well, who cares...", another, endowed with a significantly greater sensitivity, will be fascinated by that masterpiece, will look at the details and wonder "how the hell did he carve like this??". The same thing happens here: you and Scaruffi consider the Beatles garbage, I remain fascinated by their music because I don’t just stop to make critiques filled with fancy words and long-winded “ad hoc” discussions, maybe talking about Beatlemania and the Beatles fans, and saying that the first was due to advertising, and the second think that rock was born in '63: by dragging out the discussion and talking about all this, we talk about everything except the most important thing, which is the BEATLES' MUSIC. Let's learn to read between the lines... you and Scaruffi say that Maiden were not at all the most important metal band, that they just recycled Sabbathian ideas, I instead say that without Maiden, metal music either wouldn’t exist, or if it existed it would be TERRIBLE, (and if with Bukley "hysterical" has a positive connotation, in the comment about Maiden, within the sentence where it is placed, and seeing that there are astronomically high ratings (!!), hence how much your dear Scaruffi considers them, "hysterical" has a decidedly negative connotation). And one last thing: yes, sometimes I can be arrogant, but I am out of obvious necessity...

I am also among my favorite groups (if not my favorites). Steven Tyler is the god of rock today.

One last thing and then I'm off: since you don't think the judgment is that catastrophic, let's let the ratings speak for themselves: you know, those who can talk (and write) can embellish their opinions however they want, so for you it’s not negative, for me it is, for someone else it will be very positive, and for another, very negative. Ratings, on the other hand, leave no room for misunderstanding and errors: Iron Maiden (1980), 7/10
Killers (1981), 5/10
Number Of The Beast (1982), 6.5/10
Piece Of Mind (1983), 6/10
Powerslave (1984), 6.5/10
Somewhere In Time (1986), 5/10
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (1988), 5.5/10
No Prayer For The Dying (1990), 5/10
Fear Of The Dark (1992), 4/10
The X Factor (1995), 3/10
Virtual XI (1998), 3/10
Brave New World (2000), 5/10
Dance Of Death (2003), 5/10
A Matter Of Life And Death (2006), 4/10
The only one that’s widely positive is "iron maiden". The average rating is lower than that of AQUA and EMINEM. Think about it, people, think about it...

And let's move on: "The Iron Maiden, I really don't see where they are treated so badly... Scaruffi's judgment is not that unkind. 'The Iron Maiden were one of the fundamental bands of the rebirth of heavy metal after the explosion of punk rock, standard-bearers of the British 'new wave' of heavy metal.' And this would be speaking ill of them?" AND OF COURSE, THE IRON MAIDEN HAVE INVENTED HEAVY METAL!.. because what this states is: but this is the history of music, it's like saying that Led Zeppelin were the forerunners of hard rock... But MUSICALY, HOW DOES HE TALK ABOUT IT? Here it is: "The songs were also too obviously derived from Black Sabbath and Kiss, but the fervor was that of street punks... THE HYSTERICAL VOCALIZATIONS OF IAN GILLAN... cavernous bass, acrobatic dueling guitars...". You know, in a sentence of 6 words, your dear Scaruffi has flushed down the toilet 2 of the greatest and most gifted rock singers of the last 40 years: Ian Gillan and Bruce Dickinson. The latter is practically a copy of the former, (imitating him in everything in the "hysterical vocalizations"), while he says that Ian Gillan's vocalizations were "hysterical." Now I will call on Wikipedia to help me, regarding Gillan's "hysterical" voice: "..During the Made in Japan... during the high note of Child in Time... Gillan's voice was measured in decibels... reaching the decibels of a departing airplane!". I thought it was an urban legend, one of the many in rock, but instead I found out it was true!.. one of the most powerful and beautiful voices in rock described as "hysterical." Still on Wikipedia, Dickinson's VOCAL LINES are defined as perfect and of rare beauty in all of the Maiden's albums. Now I can't continue because I have to go to the sea and I'm late... I believe I will write a post about the entire topic, I don't know... but I advise you to stop making fools of yourselves.

"..the difference between musical culture and musical understanding is meaningless. If one believes that the two are completely independent of each other, it would mean that there could exist people capable of having an extremely high musical understanding with an nonexistent musical culture. It goes without saying that this is contradictory. How can one understand Vivaldi's work without knowing the Baroque?" Because you simply misinterpreted the meaning of understanding that I gave it. By COMPREHENSION I mean that innate gift, born from a sensitivity and propensity toward the various artistic branches that allows you to fully appreciate, and to a greater extent, the intrinsic beauty in a work of art (which can be a song, a painting, a sculpture, a theatrical performance). IN SIMPLE WORDS: ONE CAN LISTEN TO A PIECE, A RECORD 10 TIMES A DAY, AND STILL NOT BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND IT, TO GRASP ITS BEAUTY AND ALL THE HIDDEN NUANCES BETWEEN THE NOTES. There are those who listen to it only once and immediately manage to grasp its beauty and even the deeper, hidden nuances. Obviously, this gift must be "worked on" and refined (like a raw product), by listening to a lot of good music. But it cannot be learned anywhere. It is that "QUID" that allows me to grasp the beauty in the melodies of THE BEATLES, or of Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Kiss, and so many others. That artistic sensitivity which Scaruffi and YOU do not possess sufficiently. And you can talk endlessly about "the Beatles who only made little songs, and it was the biggest scam in rock history": the chatter of certain critics is carried away by the wind. And as a recent commercial said: "..We call them luminaries: but often, they see very little light."

"Fuck! Long live the double bass, the stinky armpit, and the greasy hair! Great longavitaalrock, make these sentimental folks understand what true rock means! Long live metal and hairy pussy!" It's the most sensible thing you've said so far... I'm also really sorry for all those who wanted to see Aerosmith!.. I had thought about going to see them too, but then I didn't go anymore, (better this way).

"Indeed, epic evil metal is music for a dime. But how can you claim that those scandals are better than the SP? But look at this, I think the same thing about the SP! "Guys: BLACK SABBATH!!!!" ABSOLUTELY. Always among the absolute best. Too bad Ozzy has lost his mind... but Ronnie James sings like a god!!!..:-)"
