a clarification: the CD was released only a year after "The Divine Wings..." and perhaps it reflects this: too little time to develop it properly, so much so that some parts were cut and reused for the subsequent "V"; but it remains an excellent album.
a question: I saw some time ago on the MySpace of SymphonyX a photo from the time of this album (yes, I admit, I don't have the original :D), but there are two that I can't identify who is Miller and who is Walling: one has long dark hair, the other has blonde hair and a goatee... help!

Anyway, the intro of "Damnation" is identical to that of "Sea of Lies," with the initial bass line and the background accompaniment, and some choruses feel déjà vu; lack of creativity and/or inventiveness?!?

d'oh...I had it all ready to send, I just needed to fix a few things, but you beat me to it :(
Anyway, good CD, although I have to say it a bit disappointed me... they are increasingly leaning towards more "classic" metal, with heavily distorted guitars and the keyboard/piano a bit too much in the background.
Other than that, nothing to say, they are technical monsters and always masters at nailing the melodies for the choruses; a special mention goes to Russel Allen for his performance on "Paradise Lost" (the song...) with a spine-chilling interpretation and expressiveness, truly wonderful: it’s worth half a point more for the album just for that!

uhm, so I have to respond to a bit of people :D
@Lethe:x the track by track is always the same old story, I never know whether to write a little about the best tracks, introduce them all a bit, or not do it at all.. I need to improve
@fenni: I definitely prefer this to The System... maybe because there are songs there that I really can't stand, maybe because I found it a bit uneven and too "disconnected"..
anyway yes, the new version of "A Tout le Monde" is really bad... I really hope that Dave got something out of Scabbia to come up with something like this :)
