As for the fact that there was already a good glam/hard rock scene in Sweden by the end of the '80s/beginning of the '90s, you're right, but I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that the "melodic death" movement was more representative of the musical landscape of that time.
Thank you all for the comments :)

Well, considering the proliferation of similar bands over the last 5 years, and counting the good number of people dressed in platform shoes-tight shirts-striped/zebra leggings present at the concerts, I would say it's a great time! :)

Nice review, I haven't listened to the album yet, but if it's on par with the last two, then it won't be a disappointment ;) (even though I prefer "Eclipse" to "Silent Waters")

"...the criticism of Dream Theater comes not from their own shortcomings but simply from the trend of attacking the band!" No, no, Dream Theater have really been getting on my nerves for about ten years now: the Petrucci-Rudess duo, when they put their mind to it, is heavy as hell. Even Symphony X have their 20-minute suites and 5-6 minute instrumental digressions within the songs, but at least they have the good taste not to make them merely sterile demonstrations of technique and musical arrogance! (what a nice comment :D) Anyway, for me this is their best album, 5.

I haven't listened to the album yet, but if you, as an expert/enthusiast of Black Sabbath, give it 5 stars, I’ll have to check it out :)
The cover is based on a painting (by a Norwegian painter, I think...) even though it has been slightly altered and ended up looking worse...

I still remember when I first read "Snoopy's Novels" by my dad: it must have been a bootleg edition, but from then on, I collected them all. Beautiful!

We are the Brothers of Metal, we have a Heart of Steel, we stand with the king and we fight with swords and hammers to spill the blood of our enemies. Death to posers, yeah! |m| |m|
Even if it's copied, I would give a 5 to the true author of these words.. :D

You really write well... but they depress and distress me, I tried listening to the last 2 albums, but I didn't like them; so I threw myself on "Turn Loose the Swans" and "The Angel and the Dark River" but no luck here either... this genre just doesn’t resonate with me :(
("For My Fallen Angel" though is stunning :)
