My mask... put it back on me. This way... the thoughts of others make their way into my mind. Before I die... I want to be alone. I want to be left alone in my world. I will open the door for you. Cross it, and go meet your future. This was the first time I used my power to help someone. It’s strange. It feels... almost... beautiful.

Every single mind I penetrated was filled with a single object of desire. The primal and selfish desire to pass on one's seed... a thing that disgusted me. Every living being on this planet exists solely to transmit its DNA. We were created for this, and this is why war was born. But you... you are different... You are like us. We have no past, we have no future. We live for the moment, and that is our only purpose. Human beings are incapable of granting each other happiness. From the moment we were confined to this world, we offer nothing to others but pain and misery. The first person whose mind I read was my father. In his heart, I found nothing but hatred and disgust toward me. My mother died giving birth to me, and he blamed me for that... I believed my father would kill me. It was then that my future vanished, just like my past.

Can't you shoot me, rookie? ... Liar! You have a nervous, scared look in your eyes. The look I've seen in the eyes of every rookie.

I was only ten years old when I tried it, and until that moment I had only played things like Crash Bandicoot and the like... In fact, at first, it terrified me a lot; I was so scared of the guards! I had never experienced anything like it... In a short time, I realized that those genetic soldiers weren't as clever as I thought, and so I began to really dive into the story... And from there, a whole new world opened up for me. It’s a sad thing to say, but this series marked my entire adolescence, for at least a decade. I have an endless stream of memories. I don’t know, I have so much to say that maybe it's better if I just keep quiet. :D

Anyway, I don't think I've ever played a video game this much... I will never find the words to describe it! Such nostalgia...

IMMORTAL

Ale, I've brought them close to Dimmu precisely because of the theatrical and "cinematic" use they make of the orchestra (at least in the last albums), even though here, as already mentioned in the review and in the DeGeneri, we are in more death-tinged territories, given that, as the good SfasciaLamiere rightly points out (hello to you), there's no longer any trace of true "old-school" death (or in the case of Dimmu, true black). @The Decline, if you liked "Communion," you can't help but be won over by this; it's more consistent in every aspect. And anyway, beyond everything, it's a pretty fun record, very entertaining, not demanding at all; in short, you grasp it right from the first listen (no wonder I wrote the review in such a short time!). Cinematic greetings to all passersby :)

P.S. anyway, I don't follow a damn thing from anyone, pfft.
