Gemini, just to be clear: this is "Ceremony of Opposites", pure poison... You'll feel that the style (riffs, sounds, atmospheres) has little or nothing to do with stuff like Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, and the like. This instead is "Eternal", an amazing album... "Passage" is already linked in the review, it's up to you which one to dive into! :D ciau

I really care about Samael; they were one of the very first bands in my "metal education" (not exactly an orthodox choice for a newbie, since usually one starts with the usual suspects!) and I didn't want to sum up their tenth album in just three lines... This might be a bit of a ramble, but, damn, for the first time I even feel satisfied with the result! :D Dear VV, since you're looking for light and summer, I recommend some good depressive black from Australia, the latest from Woods of Desolation, a name and a program! You'll see, you'll have fun... As for Gemini, I'd say to start with "Eternal" (regarding the more experimental side of the band) or the much-referenced "Passage" (a bit more extreme but still outside the box). These are the "mandatory" stops to grasp the essence of Samael; then I would also suggest "Ceremony of Opposites," in my opinion another masterpiece, but there we lean more towards black (though it's beautifully original and very personal, nothing to do with the inflated 'trve norwegian'!), and not knowing your tastes...

"Gebrechlichkeit" (or "Decrepitude," if you will) chills my blood every time. "Rundgang..." on the other hand, is my medicine: so pure, calm, mystical, almost ascetic, that it can soothe any pain that crosses my mind. I read on the tracklist that it lasts more than 25 minutes. But on my iPod, the counter has nearly reached a hundred listens. Is it possible? ...
