Listened to it a couple of times last night and now it's playing again. For me, it's currently a 3.5-4, which means (great) album, but certainly not her best work (which remains "Homogenic"). In any case, I'll give it a 5 because it seems like there are way too many 1s here, as if it were among the worst albums in the history of music...

O__O : Björk = Hell : Joanna Newsom --- nonsense aside, I’m listening to it right now and SO FAR it hasn’t won me over (the impression is still good, of course); needless to say, I’ll need a few more listens to form a judgment...

A grand return to the sounds of "Two Hunters," and honestly, I find it even slightly better. Great wolf cubs, top-quality black in 2011, very rare goods. Stunning cover, by the way (which is a bit grainy here, but oh well).

No, but what irritated me the most isn't so much the final judgment itself (even though, as I've repeated, it's expressed with such haughty tones that... please, save me the sympathy), but rather the attempt to make Opeth fans look like poor pathetic idiots who don't understand anything: "others will complain at first, only to then, after listening to the album, come up with justifications for this 'uh, interesting' album, saving face for the discography of their favorites. Brave people, bold people." My hands itch every time I read it. But can we step down from the pedestal for just a moment? It really burns them that Opeth has all this success, huh? Finally, a band that truly deserves it...

For those interested in reading another opinion link rotto - a bit too harsh and snobbish in my opinion, but the arguments are interesting. According to what the reviewer says in the early lines, I must be a fool or something like that, since at first the album threw me off quite a bit and then it gradually started to please me... Whatever. Anyway, I stand by my solid 4, in spite of the 33(???) /100.

Flaws: it’s convoluted; it’s mannered, terribly mannered; it’s meandering; on first listens it sounds cold and forced; it’s heterogeneous, and I don’t agree with the reviewer on this. "Damnation" was much more cohesive in ideas and atmospheres, as well as in form, in addition to being decidedly more emotional and poetic. Merits: it’s sophisticated; its formal imperfection makes it intriguing and never immediate; it’s rich in details and is able to gain points with every passing listen. Not a masterpiece but, in my opinion, their most interesting and courageous album in the last ten years (since "Blackwater Park").

Their least successful? I wouldn't say so at all. :)
