They're back?! But it’s from 1987!

Maybe I’ll say something silly, but I prefer this to "Souvlaki" (which is still a great piece of work!).

The meme comment had me in tears. :D

I had to (partially) change my mind: sure, the flaws are the same (a somewhat heavy double album to digest, a bit inconsistent in quality and, in any case, anything but original), but I think I was a bit too harsh with my passing grade of 3 - ergo, 3.5 almost 4. If I find it at Fnac for a reasonable price (not like "Biophilia" limited, 25€, come on!), I might consider it.

It's a motherf***ing album, not much more to say...

Great little job, yes.

A good job undermined by certain passages that I found a bit too verbose and by a clear lack of originality. Nothing new under the sun, let alone transcendental, but it still manages to evoke emotions... Just to stay on topic with the discussion about "Heritage," here’s another gem from hipsteroticon link rotto

As for the dilemma at the beginning of the review, I haven’t worried about it for a few years now, since a return to the death of their origins would be extremely unlikely or would yield poor results anyway... And that’s why I’m concerned about the next album, if there ever is one: from "Eclipse" to today, it's been a slow decline, and in my opinion, with "The Beginning Of Times", they have reached their limit/exhausted their creative ammunition (it can't get more pop than this!). We shall see.

Alright, a bit on everything: perfect production (well, Nuclear Blast...), musically and formally impeccable, catchy melodies galore and originality under the sole of your shoes. For me it’s a 3.5 because despite everything, it's still a nice feeling and the sparks are not lacking; in short, an excellent example of how to stagnate with class and avoid disgrace. In any case, Nuclear Blast for me remains the Midas of plastic, it’s truly an abominable thing, every band that falls under its wing becomes terribly empty and glossy...

THIS is the masterpiece of Death, other than the overrated "The Sound Of Perseverance"!
