@seagull: a comment worth framing! As for the comparison between Alcest and Lantlos, we're still talking about two young bands (or rather, two artists) that have sparked quite a debate in recent years (or rather, Alcest definitely has so far). So, the comparison seems anything but unfounded, considering it’s equal. I don't think I've ever seen anyone dismantle Sabbath by referring to a recent band... Alcest, however, has given a twist to black metal, released a good EP (re-recorded this year with excellent results), a great debut ("Souvenirs" initially drove me crazy, but now I've partially reassessed it due to some naïveté), and an excellent second album, a confirmation of their maturity ("Ecailles" is, in my opinion, the best thing they've done, even though many think differently). The same goes for Herbst, who drew a bit of inspiration from Alcest with their debut and ".neon"; but "Agape" is now a story on its own, and I'm sure the next albums will be too. Now we'll see if the good Neige will come back with "Les Voyages De L'ame"... In the meantime, I wanted to point out the release of the first single, "Autre Temps," in December. The video seems very ghèi.

I understand... Rather, did you also feel echoes of Bohren & Der Club Of Gore in "You Feel Like Memories"? They came to my mind almost immediately...

I've always found it quite boring and one of the least interesting by Cathedral along with "Supernatural" and "The VIIth Coming". Thank goodness they still managed to come up with a certain "Endtyme" during those years of mediocrity...

Hi Tratto, mmmh I would rate dosankos; that is, don’t get me wrong, in recent months you’re among those I read most often/with pleasure (the short reviews suit my lazy eye), even though I can’t always keep up with all your proposals, which are always diverse and interesting. However, you remind me of some users (one above all: RobyMichieletto) who in the past took DeB really well and started churning out one review after another in a short time, only to eventually "saturate" and suddenly disappear from the home page (if not even from the site) like a fart in the desert... So I’d also say "keep it up," but hey, just try not to self-combust! ;)

But no, it’s not about the length; actually, if that’s the case, I’ve read longer ones. In my opinion, maybe it just needed a bit more "breaking up" of the paragraphs, that's all. :)

I really love The Gathering, except for the first two negligible albums without Anneke; I find their entire discography immense... One album more beautiful than the other, my favorite remains "Souvenirs," but I would have serious difficulty ranking them all in order of preference! This one reaches remarkable emotional peaks; a couple of songs might not be up to par ("Colorado Incident," "Morphia's Waltz"), but when I think of everything else, I just can't give it less than a 4... I don't feel like reading the review at the moment; it's a bit too monolithic. Maybe later.

And anyway, the review I wrote a couple of days ago is more beautiful, detailed, and poetic, tsk. </sarcasmo>
