You don't write badly, but the review is dedicated to a character with practically NO artistic depth.

What bothers me the most is the fact that many people (especially adults) say, "Come on, it's just age, but it'll pass... Imagine if in 10 years, when you're almost 30, you'll still be listening to Metal and going around wearing a Bathory shirt, studs, pentagrams, and crosses, etc." First of all, if it were really "age" as they say (even though I’m already 18), at least let me enjoy it without telling me that I won’t care about my favorite bands anymore; and then it’s obvious that in 10 years I won’t go to work dressed in black with studs and a Burzum shirt and other nonsense, they'd think I'm crazy or worse; I reserve that outfit only for special occasions like concerts. And anyway, how do you explain the fact that there are still die-hard Metalheads in their 40s who are still rocking hard? My uncle is 44 and still listens to Black Sabbath... Sometimes I even pass him a few CDs :) So, as of now, I stand by my belief and I know that for quite a while no one will change my mind… And I’m sure it’ll be the same for you ;)

The review is well done, but I’m sorry to say that I’ve never listened to them! Maybe I can start right from this CD..

Intriguing! I'm downloading it right away... Then I'll give my opinion.

I usually don't listen to them, I don't spend much time on punk, but two of my friends keep bugging me and play them often in the car: I have to say they know what they're doing.. I give a 4 for the band in general. Good review.

For a die-hard fan of the brilliant saga, this equally brilliant parody deserves nothing less than a 4 :-)

Yes, but why did they give it 35/100 on Metal Archives?? :'(

I really appreciate your comparisons... I personally didn’t like this CD at all, flat and monotonous like my grandfather. My all-time favorite will always be "Annihilation of the Wicked."

I appreciated the review, which I was about to write myself xD; I agree with you on many points, especially regarding the meandering nature of the platter: too many passages without a decent thread, tracks that Tuomas would have been better off not composing, some moments where Anette really gives her worst, and the "poppiness" of two or three songs... The track I hate the most is For the Heart I Once Had, it’s HORRIBLE and pathetic; also, Anette really sounds like Cristina D’Avena, excessively childlike. You're right in saying that the CD becomes quite tiring in no time, both because it’s too long and because, as already mentioned, it’s too fragmented. However, there are still noteworthy tracks, such as the opener (definitely not on par with tracks like Ghost Love Score), The Islander, Last of the Wilds, Meadows of Heaven; then also Master Passion Greed is not bad at all, and Sahara is not that anonymous; the only thing I don't agree with is regarding 7 Days to the Wolves... I liked it (but tastes vary). Amaranth and Eva are despised by many, but they are at least listenable... I will miss Tarja, but we have to get used to it and accept Anette for what she is; after all, she doesn't sing badly, there are worse things. Moreover, Tuomas has really fallen off when it comes to writing lyrics: they've become very egocentric, anonymous, and often veer into the ridiculous, like the provocations and criticisms towards Tarja and her husband. This album is the exact opposite of Oceanborn where the sound was more genuine, less commercial, and Tuomas was both a true poet and an excellent composer/keyboardist-jack of all trades. What a pity...
